It`s pretty good, but it's more metroidvania than soulslike.

It's nothing special, but I liked it well enough

The only thing it shares with metroidvanias is being an action platformer

and exploring the map, and collectibles, and puzzles, and backtracking to reach previous areas after movement related powerups, and boss design, and character skill progression

In fact the only "soulslike" is the aesthetics and the fact that it has a roll function

it's good with some backtracking bullshit mixed in. it has very little replayability, no NG+ or alternate game modes
you can get it for 6eur on instant gaming, it's worth that much

>souls
play hollow knight if you want a souls copycat, this is more of your typical metroidvania (and pretty good at that).

Is a pretty good metroidvania. Some jumps with spikes are really infurating but I enjoyed at the end.

It contains a very obscure, criptic lore and sometimes you don't know exactly what you are supposed to do, but I didn't any guide and I found my path and some secrets along the way.

What are you talking about? Nobody thinks this game is good.

The gameplay is a lot closer to Prince of Persia than Dark Souls.

In Blasphemous all of those are more soulslike than metroidvania except the movement power-ups which it has very few of and they're mostly situational instead of game-changing in the way metroidvania upgrades usually are.

If you like metroidvanias - it's quite terrible.

Good? I found it utterly boring.
You might think that 100% of your deaths being to instant death spikes makes it good, but the platforming is so slow-paced and simplistic that you don't even feel that it's hard.

All the arpg/metroid-like aspects are utterly mundane on top and extremely shallow. It's like playing a WayForward game more than anything, pretty, nice OST, but one fucking mediocre game.

this is not souls, if you want 2d souls try salt and sanctuary

this
it's one of the most beautiful but frustrating and boring indie games out there

my man. that game was fucking lit.

SnS and ESA are much better honestly. Blasphemous feels too straightforward and small. But it looks absolutely fantastic, i can't deny that.

its short, but sweet, thats all i can tell you user. and also dont bother about the good ending, its ridiculous

What should you do? Die less than three times?

I liked it up until you get divinity-cucked by the shitty character nobody cares about.

I felt the art style/theme was overdone.

It's barely competent, not difficult at all aside from the platforming, the upgrades are absolute garbage, but i guess its ok to look at.

If you really want to play an indie souls game play The Surge 2, Ashen, Salt & Sanctuary, or Remnant from the Ashes

I really didn't enjoy it and I think it's a good example of where indie games have gone wrong.

>Die less than three times?
The opposite. You've got to pick up an item, die a few times while wearing it, then bust up the confessional statues and complete the challenge rooms.
They're insultingly easy by the time you get around to doing them.

>souls
I am so tired of zoomers. It's a (very boring) metroidvania. Only good thing is the art. If you want a good Metroidvania I'd recommend Hollow Knight, Environmental Station Alpha, or Axiom Verge.

oh youll need to die alright, you just need a specific trinket equipped when you do and then go to a very specific areas to fight very specific bosses theres a very specific way to do it. im guessing its for replay value ,but yh if you just wanna beat it and leave, its best not to worry about it.

Art and music are pretty good imo. I think they are working in a free DLC

>the year is 2020
>silksong hasnt been released yet

fucking bapanada my dude

the fact that its a free dlc has gotta mean that theyre working on paid dlc as well. hopefully it make the game more legitimately potent.

It was meant to be out in March, so who knows.

I played it at release it's great, been all patched up too but I'm waiting for the golden skeleton dlc to drop before replaying. It's some of the prettiest pixel artI've seen, and just an overall gorgeous aesthetic.
