Is Code Vein worth picking up for $30m

I'm just looking for a fun action rpg.

Code Kino is kino but I wouldn't spend 30 million dollars to play it.

Nah. 10-15 bucks at best. Don't fall for the coomer bait. It's an incredibly mediocre and soulless game with a cringe-tier anime story and average at best gameplay.

Why bother when you can play dark souls 2.

Not sure it's worth 30 million dollars bro

Maybe 10 or 15 million but 30 is a bit too much, wait for a zimbabwe sale

I honestly would rather die.

>tranny souls 2
cringe

Honestly, SPBP.

i think the surge series is better, 1 has an amazing looping level design and 2 is more traditional souls world and level design

They're both only 24 bucks on Amazon, do the stories tie into eachother or is it fine to just pick up 2 without being lost in the story?

well the story is pretty secondary to gameplay, i think 2 story is kinda lame actually and the game explains what happened in the first game well enough

the background story in 1 is pretty based and redpilled though, it draws great parallels to modern corporate culture about how youre all one big happy family, and PR rep telling everyone how theyre going to make the world a better place

The soundtrack is amazing though

eh, i played 2 without playing one and it was good enough
apparently you meet 1's protagonist

Its good but if you havent played the Surge games or Ashen they are better. Still, it is worth playing eventually.

If you're a Soulsborne fan don't bother with either.

If you're just searching for a good action RPG, both Code Vein and The Surge are solid choices.I personally like Vein the most but The Surge is a very good game too and a very underrated title.
Have on mind how The Surge is way shorter (see my gameplay hours: Vein's are three complete playthroughs without playing the DLC and The Surge is two, the park DLC included in both).

>Ashen
That stick-figure souls game that first released on ebin store and focused on co-op? Bruh

yeah for 30 millions it's a steal bro

I can see why people would like The Surge over Code Vein, but fucking Ashen?
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Try out the demo before you spend 30 million, user.
I personally love it, but it's not for everyone.

The fuck does action rpg even mean? These games are literal copies of souls games in terms of most game mechanics, you would only play them if you enjoyed souls games

Soulsborne fans absolutely despise non-From Software Souls-likes.
The only people that would enjoy games like Code Vein, The Surges or the Niohs are fans of action RPGs or fans of action games with RPG elements.

Again, what does action rpg mean? Games like diablo and poe are often referred to as action rpgs and the term for these type of games has gotten so popular theyre even tagged as arpg by steam users. Outside of that its a meaningless term. No, they are very clearly taking very heavy influence from the souls series to the point where none of these games would exist if dark souls didnt. Theyre not "action rpgs", theyre whatever term you want to use to refer to games that copy dark souls

And I dont care what some autist on Zig Forums says, you only play these games if you like souls games

>coomer
Back to discord you tranny.

>$30m
Yes
Basically a steal

>Again, what does action rpg mean?
Action game with RPG elements, like stats or gear with numeric values.

>you only play these games if you like souls games
No. If you like Souls games you only play:
Demon's Souls
Dark Souls
Dark Souls 2
Dark Souls 3
Bloodborne
Sekiro
And nothing more. At least not on that particular genre.

It's a great game, my personal favorite of 2019. Great gameplay, music, characters... Even its edgy plot is above average.
For 30 dollars (or more) it is totally worth your money.

Sekiro isnt even a fucking souls game lmao. I don't care about your autism, you only play souls clones if you like the original souls games
Dumb foreigner

No, if you like the original Souls games you only play the originals. The clones are for everyone else.

OP here, I was indeed looking for something in the same arena as Dark Souls.

>extremely sterile by the numbers shounen plot full of "muh nakama" speeches
>retrofitted to the Dark Souls formula of "you are an undead who fights 4 lords to get access to the guy who's sacrificing himself to keep the status quo"
>too much copypasta re: enemy and level assets
>no offhand weapons or shields, only 1 gear slot
>combat is just buff stacking and ability spam
>leveling is fully automatic and you just choose between premade builds (blood codes)
One of the worst souls-likes IMO.

yes, which is why videos by soul-centric youtubers like vaati about souls-likes get 0 views

oh wait, those gets hundreds of thousands

It´s fun, go for it.

For 30 dollars it's worth it
The dlc ain't worth it though.

Unironically try Ashen. It got shat on because of the EGS exclusivity deal (which by now has expired) but it's a really decent game with a very cool art direction and great level design.

All PC games are free
Its better than code vein
