People praise the game for not bowing to left-puritanism about fanservice and sexy girls but you're worried that we're overlooking them bowing to right-puritanism about the presence of holy symbols being subverted
But I don't think that's actually what's going on in the game. I think they just chose some new words for the localization because they sound fancy and cool. They don't censor, at all, the fact that the god of the world is a mortal dude who claimed his incredible power through technology and that there is NO OTHER GOD, which if they were actually trying to censor things to appease right-puritans, I would expect them to fuck with that, more than just simply saying "Oh we'll call God "The Architect" because otherwise christians might get triggered"
There's plenty of other shit in the game that's going to trigger retarded christians - god being a mortal man, the main villain basically being the fucking pope, the fact that the Aegis and the Zohar is LITERALLY shaped like the cross. They didn't touch any of that, and I don't really buy that because they gave some other things fancy names that they were doing it to appease right-puritans. I think they just thought it sounded cool.

I think Klaus being the god of XC2 is one of the better moments of the game, and it jibes well with some of the themes of the game
Like, a big message in XC2 is that who you are is influenced incredibly by 1. Who you bond with and 2. The circumstances you are faced with.
Klaus, pre-split, was kind of an asshole with delusions of divinity. In the split, one half of him got sucked into the XC1 world, where he basically saw his dream of godhood come true, and became a megalomaniac sociopath.
But in XC2, he saw his dream result in the annihilation of his entire civilization. And as a result, he became humbled, repentant, morose.
Some people say that the "evil half" of Klaus got sucked into the XC1 world. But I don't think that's the point. They are both the same Klaus. Just different circumstances - one achieving godhood, and the other seeing the wreckage of his hubris - led to two very different characters.
