there is a mod that aims to give more life to TF2 called creators.tf. Although it has the jewtuber VNN promoting it, I think it's a good idea since Valve doesn't care about the game anymore.

this. I play exclusively on community servers unless it's scream fortress and i have't seen bots or hackers since '19 ended. The map selection is smaller but the average skill level is higher.
It can be played competitively but the game itself shouldn't revolve around it

Thats not a mod you dongus but a community. Played a few rounds there, their custom map is a sentry hell, even moreso than like turbine. Also Tyler McNigger is a mega-ass faggot that claims tf2 has only like 5000 daily unique players.

I still play on creators.tf servers every week, games only die when they stop being played. It's definitly not the same game or as good as it used to be but still miles above every FPS I've ever played
