Stand in back of map where nobody can hurt you

>stand in back of map where nobody can hurt you
>click heads
>receive free kills
Why is this fair?

obviously bait but, why does every shitter in tf2 Zig Forums threads complain about sniper while still trying to pretend like they know what they're talking about?

It's literally just one guy.

prove him wrong.

give your reasons for why you're not using this weapon

The ability to counter a Sniper is directly proportional to how aware the rest of his team is. A Sniper with no support will always be food for Spies no matter how godlike his aim is. However, even a mediocre sniper who's being vigilantly guarded by a pyro or combo has no counter besides "hope there's a better sniper on your team and wait for him to outsnipe his opponent."

>and does not entertain criticism because he does not fear replacement
This seems contradictory

a sniper is as good as his team. even if he's slaying people left and right it doesn't matter if his team never pushes to make room for him.

If you're using this weapon as intended you'll be juggling with so many traps while you could be just sticky spamming. Don't get me wrong the idea is cool but dying after placing all of your well-thought out trap placements is infuriating

>That one sniper that joins the server, destroys the enemy team and leaves with top score without saying a word

Making traps is fun, but when it comes down to it sticky-spamming is just too good to give up.

Right but I would assume that he had left because he got bored, not because he has an innate fear of criticism.

unironically nerf stock launcher

they did, but the community cried so loud and so suddenly that they put it right back where it was

it's not. that's why the cheaters always abuse this class, the broken one

I think they did, they nerfed stickies after like ~8 years to do less damage if they're detonated soon after being launched.

I only use it while defending last IF there is a dispenser or major ammo pack nearby, or if the spawn cabinet isn't too much of a jog (e.g. Dustbowl). This allows me to spam pills down choke points while guarding the point, effectively becoming a mortar man.

no they don't. almost every bot is a sniper, and the one who is an engineer (engineer gaming) simply walks out and pelts people with a shotgun.

Friendly reminder that Valve themselves said that Sniper was the only class they ever considered actually removing entirely. He's completely uncounterable except by a better sniper. He was given multiple unlocks to negate any of the softcounters he original had (spies/pyros).

No. Sticky spam is what makes Demo good. A trap-oriented demoman is the demo equivalent of a heavy choosing to play as a fat scout.

I'll just drop this here

If it's so unfair, easy and OP, why aren't you abusing it?

Spamming a chokepoint and detonating as soon as you hit an enemy... almost like that's what pills are for...
sticky spam is what makes demo good because it's broken, traps are what the sticky bombs are intended for

A demoman setting up traps might be suboptimal but not enterily useless like a shotgun heavy. If the other team mates are generally holding, a demo with a few stickies on the cart/point or choke point will negate the occasional breakthrough. I've seen it many times.

Sniper is the class that needs the most time to kill an enemy. Soldier just needs 2 rockets he doesn't need to charge, Heavy is the same, as is demo. Sniper is only good at picking off other wise unreachable targets supported by sentry fire or medics etc. To break stalemates. Otherwise he's inefficient.

>almost like that's what pills are for
Not really the same since the two projectiles obey different physics, for example, rolling. Pills are better for defense and bursting down stationary targets, stickies are better for general spam.
>traps are what sticky bombs are intended for
This is a useless statement to make since tf2 wasn't even launched "as intended," it was "intended" to be played 8v8.

Demo mains couldn't handle not having the most op weapon in the game.

If your role is that minimal you may as well just switch to something like Heavy/Pyro so you can hold the line or play support in other ways than stopping stragglers who make it past everyone else.

because he takes skill unlike every other class in tf2.

the fuck do you mean it was intended 8v8? 12v12 was just waiting for optimisation

tf2 was designed and playtested on 8v8 servers, they moved to 12v12 at the literal last second to save on server costs
