What are your usual builds when you play New Vegas?
speech so i can skip through all the dialogue
I base them on cartoon characters
For me it's a pure guns build with the reloading perk. I like the concept of making my own ammo and shooting people with it
High int, dump stats into social skills, get a good long gun.
I was thinking I've never played a melee builds in FNV despite like 5 playthroughs. Any advice?
Make sure you grab melee AND unarmed, they tied perks to both stats instead of either. The war club from HH and the chainsaw are my personal favorites. With unarmed I loved two-step goodbye and greased lightning
crit shotguns with high survivability so i can get the radiation healing perk
thats always been my favourite because you just feel like a god
Shotgun Jesus - non-combat skills, Guns, perks for better shotgunning. Perk that knocks enemies down turns all fights into a joke.
But for next playtrough I'm gonna probably run Flamer build.
The only 4 skills that matter are speech, small guns, repair, and survival
The only outfit that matters is The King’s Greaser Bodyguard leather jacket
The only companion that matters is ED-E
1 charisma and 100 speech like every other playthrough
Has "builds" as a meta concept just totally ruined all RPGs? People act like having a gun with 10 damage with +2 from a perk is different from having a separate gun with 9 and +3 from a perk.
Mostly Guns and Agility. This game has to have one of the finest selections of weapons in all of vidya. I bet most of /k/ creamed their pants when they saw the whole arsenal.
I always want to use every firearm and explosive weapon the game features because they're all so damn good.
gun
The point of rpgs is to roleplay. Building characters or building a playstyle fits with that. It's not so much about the 12 dmg, it's about.how you get to/deal it
stealth archer
Wait there is a bow and arrow in NV?
>I bet most of /k/ creamed their pants when they saw the whole arsenal.
am /k/ommando and it's one of the few games the board accepts.
>hack naughty night wear onto male character.
>Hack a supply of throwable explosives.
>Use only explosives and unarmed
>"The Frag Fag Teabagger"
Usually ending up falling back on stealth and guns but have been modding for an energy weapons playthrough, trying to find one that are satisfying to use. The Sonic Shotgun mod is quite fun if over powered, looking into how to balance it.
Also thought up a Sweeney Todd playthrough idea: Straight razor and Figaro evil cannibal. Will probably never do it but I could see someone trying it at some point.
I don't know why I haven't used any explosives until this day. Fucking around with dynamites is so much fun and there is basically infinite amount to them since many enemies carry it
>not using Perk Rework so you only have to level one of them
>Obligatory .50 Sniper Rifle isn't a Barrett of any kind.
>Starting pistol is a Browning Hi-Power
>Cool fictional weapons, like a .50 AE SMG, and a man-portable turret you rest on your shoulder like a rocket launcher.
>Plenty of other weapons that seemed like they were picked straight out of a Forgotten Weapons video.
I can see why.
My favorite in every fallout is speech + lockpick + energy weapons + power armor
Usual builds? I just pick up whatever weapon I have ammo for and spam vats headshots on all my enemies. By the end of the game I have 100 in all skills anyway.
Cowboy Build or a Power Armor/heavy weapon build
>Usual builds? I just pick up whatever weapon I have ammo for and spam vats headshots on all my enemies. By the end of the game I have 100 in all skills anyway.
Perks matter in a build too, user. Used to be you couldn't get all perks but after all the DLC you can get pretty much any one that matters by the end.
Unarmed and pistols.
Melee, Unarmed, and
Sometimes Science
But always Luck
absolute retard with 10 luck. Put skill points into explosives and lob dynamite. Also put points into melee weapons. Never use VATS.
10 Strength
10 Charisma
10 Luck
Heavy Weapons
Melee Weapons
Guns
guns for awhile then dump into energy so I can use muh plazma and lazor guns
Slutty female
Based and Luckpilled
low INT, low CHR, low STR, all points into guns. Shotguns only
killing benny was never easier
and get a good dickin too
Max luck then choose what weapon I want to use. Last time was 1h pistols, maybe next time will be energy rifles
Please, I don't even sleep with him. I talk him into walking into his bedroom then 22 him in the back of the head.
I don't care about your sexual preference, just shut up and die quietly
I just build perks that give me more damage or stats. That's all that matters. Even on very hard difficulty the game is really straightforward and you can basically do whatever you want. If an enemy is too tough like a deathclaw just use explosives.
Can someone please help me? The quest Pheeble Will is broken for me. I talked to Heck Gunderson BEFORE I started the quest, and now I'm required to go talk to him and now I can't initiate a conversation with him. I tried the console commands to move the quest along (complete all objectives & set stage) but those aren't working.
Is there a way to force a conversation?
I used the New Vegas roller to make a character a while back. Ended up with Combat Devolved.
It's been fun, the best moments are having to swap out one of my current weapons for one an enemy dropped in the middle of a fight to shoot them with their own weapon. Dedicating a lot of my weight to ammo carrying.
Been prioritizing all the different combat skills for placing points, followed by skills like repair and medicine. While I've completely neglected speech and barter. I've embraced the fact that all problems are solved with combat, one way or another.
This, Luck is broken. You can bankrupt every casino and crit constantly
Grognak the Barbarian builds are always fun. Max Melee, max strength and endurance, low intelligence. Wield the largest melee weapon you can find.
This. I go full cowboy - only revolvers, levergats, and boltguns. I always have a cowboy outfit and hat, only transitioning into actual armor with the Ranger Duster and Riot Armor at end game.
I'm just sad that theres a max you can win from casinos, like, let me play again after a few days if I dont win too much, I'm having fun sometimes.
You could try "reset " to restart it. It's worked a few times for me before.
It sucks having to re-do things but it's better than the quest being stuck forever.
getting a triple orange on your first few rolls and getting instantly banned from the casino is kinda fucked.
