technically, if someone was crazy enough to actually get his happiness from starving children, Maruki would make the world filled with starving children. He never questions anyone's happiness, he just grants it.

You can see that in most of the background NPC's conversations, when they talk about how literally everybody in their companies get promoted, or how some playboy gets to fuck all and every girl he wants regardless of them having bf/ being married.

Maruki is absolutely law aligned. He removes your free-will in exchange for bliss. He becomes the central authority that grants mankind peace and happiness in exchange for the right to choose your own life.

This is wrong. He would instead remove your happiness seeing children starve and replace it with something else.

It isn't even accurate that Maruki gives you whatever you want. He expresses over and over that if you experience pain and frustration trying something, you should just give up on it because experiencing those feelings is bad. That's why he takes an NPC that is trying to become an artist and makes him become an archer instead, because he thinks it will cause him less frustration.

I thought he only did that if you're idea of bliss wasn't applicable, like with Madarame. He only fucks with your free will when its needed, but otherwise you see him grant the actual wishes of others without changing what the wish was.

If he is fucking with your free will whenever it's inconvenient than you don't have free will at all. For example, if there are two contradictory desires, than Maruki decides which one is the winner and the loser. If your crush was interested in someone else, he would remove your desire for that crush and replace it with someone else.

Maruki decides which wishes come true, and which wishes do not. He chooses the path that results in the happiest results for everyone, your will is forced into whichever option makes everyone happiest.
