Alright, Zig Forums - which is better, Ages or Seasons?
At least we can agree that the Oracle games are the best 2D Zeldas, surely?

seasons is better and no, alttp is best 2d
seasons is marginally better, it started as a remake of the first game but ended up its own thing, so it is the only game in the series that feels like spiritual successor and natural evolution
I have tried playing ALttP on multiple occasions but I really don't get the appeal - something about the art style puts me off
I like Ages more since the puzzle are more complex and switches between past and present is always fun.
I still wish we got the third game even if importing progress would have caused lots of headache at Capcom.
I never realized until the other year that the central area of Holodrum actually changes depending on who's flute you get
I liked ages better but I agree that these are the best. why go either-or? Playing them both and then fighting the final boss is one of the most satisfying experiences in 2d zelda you can have.
If you know, you know

I prefer Link's Awakening.
Never played either of these, but I do own both. What's the best order to play them in? Is enough different to play them both a 2nd time in opposite order?
I'll give props since it's the template for the oracles but the remake made me realise how much the Oracles beat Link's Awakening at it's own game. The only thing the original has over them is maybe more interesting dungeon design and that's it.
Seasons.
Make sure to write down the passcodes to get an alternative Ages experience with bonus weapons, an altered storyline and a true final boss.
Ages= Two different worlds, present and past
Seasons= Four different worlds, uhmm... seasons.
I liked Season more since it's so adventurous.
Oracle of Ages is THE best 2D Zelda
Ages is slightly better than Seasons. And yes, they are the best 2D Zeldas. In fact, they're the third and fourth best Zeldas behind only Ocarina and Majora. To think that the four best entries in the series all came out within just a 3-year window. It really is amazing.
Ages, solving puzzles via time bullshit will always be the neater gimmick. Plus the villain was hot.
Seasons because I played it first.
Also because it was more action based instead of gay puzzles.
Links Awakening = Seasons > ages > lttp > the others.
fight me.
no, we cannot.
same for Ages.
These animal friends were a strange idea, does anyone ever use them again after getting the flute and passing that part of the map?
That only raises the question of what the series has been doing for 2 decades if none of those four have been topped yet
Came here to post this. LA was pure soul. These games are just cheap imitations by comparison.
>different shades of brown
>different kinds of seasons with a hot chick in a leotard
How is this even a choice?
I like the "Iron Knuckle tries his hand at big time villainy" with General Onox.
Too bad he changes into a generic dragon just to make a reference.
Minoan cap is best 2d Zelda.
minish cap was trash, wtf are you on about
Minish cap was shit and I will fight you over this
to this credit, at least the visuals were good
for 2D zeldas they peaked with Minish Cap, everything after doesn't feel as great for some reason despite the hardware being vastly improved
Faggot. Ages is better and Seasons is a close second. Link's awkening is best 2d zelda.
Alttp is vastly overrated
I played Minion's Cap recently for the first time and it was fun. What's so bad about it?
I believe moosh is required to go back at certain areas of the map in oracle of ages because you don't have the Roc's Cape. I think the same is true of Dimitri due to the river currents in oracle of ages. I might be wrong, it's been over 19 years since I played them.
I agree. Minish Cap was beautiful.
Not that user but Minish Cap is super short and has very easy dungeons on top.
Also you couldn't house all three oracles at the end which is a dissapointment.
