Shattered Memories kind of tried to do something but these games really don't get close to 1-4.

They said the same thing about the VtMB sequel, but it was really just a small part of the original team returning and it's not the same at all. Even with all the same people it's not a guarantee they can recreate anything.
And even though 1-4 are all "Team Silent" games, they weren't actually all made by the exact same people. The guy who directed 1 didn't direct any of the others.

A rumor about Sony and Konami arranged a soft reboot of Silent Hil spearheaded by Keiichiro Toyama, Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamahoka. Basically the closest thing to the original group of Team Silent. Ito especially has been hinting at a new SH on twitter for months, especially after the period he was afraid that it was going to get cancelled.
People think the shit was going to get reveal during PS5's reveal.
