I recently started playing this after they released it on Steam. It's a really fun game but I have to say the griefers in this game is a serious problem.
My first server as a new player I was in the town with all the NPCs and I get randomly killed by some green goo shot by 2 other players. For what reason? This is the kind of behavior that kills these online games.
Is there any way to create a private session for yourself like it was possible in GTA online by dropping the connection? I heard that idling in a server works but as soon as you drop your anchor the sessions try to merge.
I feel like pve servers need to be added for this game honestly.
look, you really don't need to be sheltered all the time, your kind of behaviour is what made online gaming so safe and unchallenging, part of the beauty of this game is having to deal with strangers, and yes it might be weird at first if they're being jerks around what look like new players, but don't let a couple bad experiences ruin it for you, experiment, maybe bring a couple friends for the ride and have fun

I'm not really interested in the game but is there no safe place at all? Not even in town? What is the point? Can you lose something other than time?
Dylan Walker
I get that ye, the problem is I'm trying to go into this as a solo player which is probably not a good idea. Regardless I just don't want to go through the hassle of getting treasure and then constantly getting ganged as I attempt to make my way back. If this constantly happens I won't be able to make any progress whatsoever. And it's not like things are cheap in this game.
If you got any advice I would appreciate it
Jonathan Roberts
Not there is literally no safe zones. I got killed in town islands multiple times now and I didn't even have treasure on me.
The stuff you lose are items on your person like food or wood dor repairs. Obviously you also lose all your treasure if you have any on you. I heard there are "raid" type events in this game which can take up to 30min. The problem is after opening the treasure vault after 30min another player can just come in and kill you and loot your hard work.

Griefing is something you do to your own crew. Get a grip.
Levi Nguyen
And then of course there are the fun moments in this game when you aren't being griefed
Ye there's that as well. Apparently a lot of players join crews and then dump the treasure they find into the ocean. How is that ok?
Adam Garcia
Stop playing shitty normie games.
Ryan Morris
Normalfags get filtered by this game. It is for the thinking gentleman only.
Xavier Wright
Summit1G makes dollars per minute making an example out of you on the sea. There will be no private or pve servers, the Xbox players will always have populated servers to join,
Adam Cooper
Nothing gentlemanly about fucking over new players at a constant rate forcing them to ragequit.
John Collins
its a pvp game...
Camden Murphy
Spineless people shouldn't try to walk.
Hunter Phillips
git gud, fag
Thomas Wilson
Literally who?
Tyler Mitchell
its a pirate game| not sea of friends im gonna go set fire to new players ships and laugh at them.
Wyatt Hill
Is this game fun anons? Pirates are really cool and I want to be a pirate
Hudson Kelly
yes.
Camden Lee
I either make them quit or they stop playing on their own a week later because "lol this game is boooooring where da explosions at bruh!". Fuck them.

>not being cognizant of your loot at all times >not using the brig
Your own fault.
Sail against the wind with your Sloop's sails going directly against the wind. This sound entirely counterintuitive, I know, but the sailing mechanics are bugged so this actually makes you go faster than having a slightly off-center sail that's going with the wind as opposed to against it. Additionally, sailing against the wind means that no ship can catch you. The Sloop has the fastest minimum speed in the game, and since there is no way to functionally accelerate (i.e. a speed boost), then once you have decided to just sail with the wind then you will eventually outrun anything that isn't another Sloop, and they will never catch up because they can't go any faster than you are.
Is this boring? Yes, immensely, but if the treasure is that important to you then it's what you do. Additionally, you are a new player, you are not serviced by doing voyages in any capacity because the ambient loot that just spawns on islands/skeleton captains on islands/etc. is usually of a higher quality than whatever mission it is you are doing. Thus instead of doing voyages, just sail from island to island collecting the shit that's on the shores and kill the captains, and do their mission that they drop.

It wasn’t that bad last time I played
Maybe the retards who bought it just because they saw it on steam are just bigger retards than the people who bought it when it was only on the windows store. It’s easier to not realize it’s even on PC if it’s only on the windows store because who uses that shit
Jace Wilson
>want to play >need windows 10 >don't have windows 10 >can't dual boot on my ssd cause its the wrong partition type >converting it to the right type would wipe the entire thing and i'm not doing that >not hard upgrading to win10 either guess i'm buying another ssd
Robert Lewis
I really don't understand why the majority of PvPers don't just arena. I play that shit all the time, and it's far more interesting than sloop ganking.
Joining adventure to gank is some tiny dick shit.
Isaac Scott
Most of the time, in this type of game, it's easier to gank others since you have either the element of surprise, or a equipment advantage, or both.
Brayden Robinson
Zero tension. I could give a shit about fighting a bunch of retards who have nothing to lose. I'd much rather get into a fight with a dude who has been on the server for two hours and has a hoard that he is actively trying to defend. It's far more satisfying than Arena ever will be. There is also the hunter/prey and role-reversal situations that arise. In Arena I am never searching the server, trying to find someone to fight, hunting them across the map, I'll never see a ship that I peg as an easy mark turning out to be the better crew, these are things that will never happen in Arena. I don't hunt sloops either unless I am also in a sloop because I agree it's horribly boring, worse now that they put in rezzing.
Alexander Garcia
If you can't defend loot you gather you need to unironically git gud. Keep your eyes on the horizon for potential threats. Its not hard
Aaron Price
>nuRare your fault for buying trash
Cooper Robinson
HAH wow I thought was for people who played video games, not fucking babies who need their hands held. Actually stick to mario you'll have more fun
Gabriel Morgan
You lose nothing in arena except 15 mins of your time if you lose right at the end. Me rolling up on a sloop bitch on my own sloop and stealing 3 hours of his work is more satisfying. Also I could lose 3 hours of my time but you'd have to sink me first bitchboy.
Landon Morales
Arena is an exploitable, poorly thought out mess. Playing in non competitive ways, such as farming afk ships for points is the most viable strat. It's dumb
Also there are no cool rewards after a few hundred wins.
