Holy shit this is way better than Persona

It's so refreshing to enjoy solid gameplay and not play an overglorified waifushit VN.

P5 has better gameplay than SJ by sheer virtue of no Demon Source bullshit

Dead thread. The next time you want (you)s, bait with 4/4A instead

The calendar structure is really the biggest thing holding Persona back. Insanely poor pacing.
Persona 1/2 might have highly flawed gameplay but it's extremely refreshing how quickly they get going. No 5 hour intro before you're allowed to play the game, no constant filler scenes full of pointless exposition, no waiting an in-game month after beating a dungeon for the plot to start back up again, etc.

Good. Stick to casualized ezmode games.

>Redux
Go back to Persona please

its comfy though

you should try out P3 sometime user

Devil Survivor already gave us a superior calendar system.
Meanwhile Persona's calendar has not changed since 3.

When are SMT fags going to get over it? Just play other monster raising games while you wait like the normal fans.

>P5 has better gameplay than SJ by sheer virtue of no Demon Source bullshit
Demon Source didn't seem like a problem to me when I played the SJ.

I played all the Persona games, actually
Hard to decide whether 3 or 4 was the worst, though I played 3 PSP, so I'm probably overrating it since I played the non-movie version

there is nothing wrong with redux

I started with P3P and then played P3FES. Gotta admit that cutscenes really added up to the experience. I'm also masochist who likes non-controllable allies as game was clearly balanced around it.
But I love SMT games even more. SMT IV is a wonderful, flawed gem. Nocturne and SJ are the best though. If only Redux would use original character art rather than modern one (I do enjoy most of QoL improvements and "cheats" like unlimited apps).

>Commander Gore is a decisive, no-nonsense, powerful humanity-first advocate who is staunchly protective of his soldiers.
>Isabeau is a indecisive, cowardly fence sitter who would rather do nothing and let humanity fall into the yoke of law or chaos until the last second where she is an easily defeated boss.

Don't forget Isabeau looks like a chimp

She looks like a monkie.
Meanwhile Gore is a chimp and most probably BLM hardcore supporter.

Too bad the alignment-based combat system is boring as fuck as they should have just gone with press-turn again

The fact this game had the gun censored from the western cover is still one of the most retarded things I've had to suffer from this series.

Gore is the Jungian archetype of unfuckingstoppable

3ds is worth for smt games alone

>In 4A, her entire presence can be summed up as "Flynn's asskisser"
>If you side with Dagda, she threatens to kill herself if you dont kill her
>If you refused in a conversation near the beginning of the game, she'll say she hated you ever since
>You can still mindbreak her into your obedient cocksleeve and have her birth an entire universe's worth of your children
>AND she's actually one of the better characters to do it to because of her nature as an all-rounder magic support/healer/buffbot
Isabeau's such a non-character it's hard to hate her because I forget she exists half the time

Never did finish this game. I was pretty burnt out by the dungeon crawling by the fourth world.

Literally any other SMT has better gameplay.

Anyone played Soul Hackers? Any good?

No.

You're playing the waifushit versoin of the game though.

Yes.

The social part greatly improves the gameplay though. Press Turn is a very poor and simplitic system so you cannot base a game around it and expect it to be good, but it is much more tolerable when it's only one of the aspects of the game.

I was honestly shocked to play SMT Persona and find they have Personas like 10 minutes in. Hopefully it's a little better in the 2 duology because they don't explain any of the shit that's going on (maybe it gets better as I go further, I'm about to go into the SEBEC building).

Persona's calendar system has got worse since 3, going from prepare for thing to happen on X date to finish thing by X date. It doesn't sound like much of a change, but at least in P3 the main plot is consistently laid out, they somehow managed to murder the pacing even more. I hope the new director gets rid of it or at least reforms it for better pacing, but with how much of a big money maker Persona is I think theres going to be less and less changes each game.

Am I losing my fucking mind or is everyone in smtiv saying samurai weirdly?
