This game sucks ass

Disk 1: The best Final Fantasy has ever been.
Disk 2: Still great. Doing a lot of SeeD Missions and an interesting time travel plot is developing.
Disk 3: Holy shit, this game just fell apart. Squall became a totally different character out of nowhere, everything with Rinoa is obviously forced in, the time travel plot completely fell apart, Laguna's development has been usurped and most of the disk is just filler.
Disk 4: Game gets good again because it got all the Rinoa crap out of it's system.

It's pretty clear this game could have been the best FF game. If Kitase didn't insist on shoving a love plot into it. Just make it entirely about SeeD Missions and focus more on the Laguna/Squall time travel elements and it could have been the best FF game.

The game would have been redeemable if the leveling system wasn't so fucking stupid. But nope it has to have a shitty scaling system and have retarded cards be the main focus of the fucking game.

The only thing that actively offends me about the game is the fucking level scaling. You actually get far weaker as you level up because everything else including bosses gets far, far stronger than you do at a fucking exponential rate.

This is actually the greatest game ever made.

Not that guy, but her entire basis for existing is just to create a love plot in a game that doesn't need one. If you removed her from the plot, literally nothing would be lost except filler. Even her backstory is just "the girl Laguna didn't marry went off and married a high ranking politician. And their child was Rinoa." The game tries to make it seem like Rinoa and Squall were completing the love story Laguna and Julia could never complete. But the whole point of Laguna's story is that he found happiness by forgetting about Jilia...

tl;dr She's an empty bit of tail.

XV wasn't that bad outside of rushing the story and boring combat system. Granted I'm not a retard who played the game on release and bought the royal edition when it was on sale and then beat it + all DLCs.

This is wrong though. Bosses level up every time you reach a level divisible by 10. So if you go into the final boss fight at level 99, the boss will be level 90. You'll actually be overpowered compared to them. If you go into the final boss fight at level 100, then both you and the boss will be level 100. If you skip every battle and try to keep yourself at a super low level like 19 or something, then you'll still just be 9 levels above the boss, which is the same as going into the final battle at level 99.

These people who avoid every battle and keep themselves low are actually spending more time and effort than just playing the game normally. But it's also silly since the game is super easy to beat even at max level (100).
