you dont 'install' GZDoom you unzip it with the wad files into the folder
recommended to use a launcher like ZDL zdoom.org
just slap all the wad files from the classic games into the same folder along with ZDL and any mods you wanna use and then do everything through the ZDL launcher window

Yeah but it’s got its appeal. It’s when someone gets the idea that it’s the ‘definitive’ or ‘best’ way to play Doom that’s the issue, and the same thing applies to gameplay-altering mods.
Doom95 went up to 640x400 and 640x480 and was included with Final Doom, for what it’s worth.

I got really sick around late december while playing Freedoom so I spent like two days non stop having fever dreams about Freedoom. Please, god, no more. I can't stand the shitty low framerate sprites, the box levels, the braindead enemies that move in eight directions, no more, no less. I'm done with it.
