Give another attempt at the radiant AI system from Oblivion. NPCs who act on their own wants and needs and to their own time schedules makes for a more 'lived in' feeling for a player going about the world. I think RPGs are more engaging when the world is highly reactive not only to the player directly but indirectly and without any player influence at all.

It would be better than what will probably happen with TESVI, which is they will shoehorn the settlement building of Fallout 4 into it. They'll have us tediously making little shitty medieval hamlets and being the gigadragonborn divine being of some sort.

Whatever they do, for the love of god please start investigating into getting a new engine.

Honestly, this is my biggest concern for the game. I have others, but this is a major one. I don't mind if there's optional activities, like quests to improve your home base or whatever it ends up being but if there's a mechanic that has you jumping all over the map to defend towns/village, etc. then that'll just prove that they have no fucking idea what players want and don't want.
