>Starting With the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X Bundle. Games are now given during the system's initial set up. No Game Code/s will be Included. Program is called "Digital Direct" xbox.com/en-US/consoles/digital-direct
>Apparently Capcom Vancouver tried making a more serious rebooted Dead Rising 4 inspired or in the vein of The Last of Us and The Walking Dead. Microsoft was on board but Capcom rejected it.

As long as Halo Infinite reveal is in July I’m happy.
Michael Torres
its been confirmed for months now that it will be shown in july
Jose Allen
At first, when I heard that the Xbox event was delayed until August, I thought it was the game reveal event, glad it’s just the console event.
Cameron Reed
i hope they bring back the model s controller like they did with the duke. it was the superior controller and mine still works great
the 360 is the best xbox controller stop embarrassing yourself
Colton Peterson
I want to see what the Initiative is working on the most
Nathan Perry
>Delaying event until August because they're too scared to compete with Sony directly
Jeremiah Perry
I thought this thread was going to be about the original Xbox, I'm disappointed.
Tyler Jones
the july event forfirst party game reveals is still happening in july dumbass
Alexander Morris
its for everything xbox that includes the OG box
Benjamin Powell
An event that no one will care about after the PS5 event.
Lucas Powell
Apparently it's a Perfect Dark reboot.
Juan Ortiz
>Xbox Game Studios reveal still scheduled for July. This is supposed to be the E3 replacement right?
Michael Adams
It was inferior to the Duke or S controller in pretty much every way. Shittier D-Pad, cheaper build quality, instead of having a comfy grip like previous iterations you have a huge fucking bulking piece of plastic shit battery holder in the way of you fingers, gamepad only works wireless, doesn't matter if you actually connect it unless you specifically purchase the wired only 360 PC pad, even worse quality analogs meaning they deteriorate faster and for some reason they decided to put extra tiny torx screws to fuck you over when trying to change or clean the controller. So how is that any better compared to older controllers? Or you just can't admit you have toddler hands and never used a proper D-Pad in your life?
Ethan Davis
Yep
Jace Phillips
Dead Rising shouldn't be serious
Nolan Phillips
Do you think the studios they acquired will work on older Xbox IPs? Would you be fine if Double Fine were given permission to do Banjo?
Connor Brown
They're still hiring people. I doubt we'll see anything soon.
Ryder Jackson
Id rather see them do Conker.
Carter Johnson
Yep, Capcom Japan shut down every single proposal for it. The problem is they also rejected every single new IP proposal and just wanted vancouver to be a DR factory. It's really no wonder the branch fell apart after that.
Owen Taylor
I agree but they should try new things every now and again
also its more about Capcom closing the studio that worked on it which means one lesser 3rd party studio for xbox
Logan Price
this user put it better than I did
that studio was something good for xbox and if they had been allowed to do more than just dead rising they might have turned out a good new ip xbox exclusive
Carter Flores
>The Medium - a Microsoft next gen exclusive will feature instant transitions from one world to another without any loading screens.
bullshit.
Matthew Nguyen
Wasnt 3 serious? People seemed to like that one.
Sebastian Reed
The proto-Destiny pitch seemed cool as well as the TPS with giant alien plants in brazil . For anyone curious about DR4 and DR5's development, it's a pretty hilarious ride and insight into the incompetent AAA. youtube.com/watch?v=6glExmQadfY

the four big failures of Xbox.
The first is letting Bungie go AND not financing Destiny despite having first right of refusal. They should have just let them do their thing under Microsoft's umbrella.
The second is not locking down Bioware when they had a three game deal for Mass Effect. Not only did they let EA buy them, they gave away the rights to the other two games in the franchise.
The third is not locking down Sunset Overdrive and by extension Insomniac. Now Insomniac is a first party Sony studio AND Sunset Overdrive is a Sony IP. Great job.
The fourth is Dead Rising. They should've locked down the IP after financing the first game, instead the second came to Playstation as well, then they financed the third, only to have the fourth come to all platforms again.
There might already be a fifth, because they have sold the rights to Alan Wake to Remedy and there were rumors that they might be in talks with Sony. Imagine that, an Alan Wake 2 exclusively on PS5. These are the sort of things that you just can't let happen. It's a bad look if you fail to finance sequels that are wanted - and they then end up potentially with your competitor.
Asher Miller
>Bioshock and Mass Effect could have been MS exclusives >Sunset Overdrive is now a Sony game >Alan Wake could have been a MS exclusive and part of a bigger franchise Why does it feel like MS could strike gold at every corner but they fail to do so? At least Forza is better than ever.
Weren't The Initiative made to be Microsoft's answer to Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica given they recruit the same kind of people? I doubt Perfect Dark would be a good fit for the cinematic HBO audience
Jayden Harris
I find it funny that both Bungie and Bioware immediately went down the shitter in almost the same way after leaving MS
Ryan Foster
M$ is just a hopeless company. They meddled and fucked with DR too, even though most of the blame was on the studio heads (And Capcom Japan not having better communication). Hopefully Philly realizes how much is on the line this gen, because nobody fucking wants another gen of Sony being uncontested.
Liam Long
Nobody cares about xbox at this point
They shouldn't have given up on the xbox one like they did, it killed the brand.
Liam Collins
this is an extreme long shot but they should acquire ready at dawn. I can't believe ready at dawn isnt owned by sony after all the games theyve made for them I always assumed they were in sonys first party but theyre not
their most recent ps4 game was the order 1886 which a lot of people shat on and ultimately didnt care about on PS4 I think it sold well enough but they were definitely expecting bigger applause and probably a franchise
Connor Lee
>The second is not locking down Bioware when they had a three game deal for Mass Effect. Not only did they let EA buy them, they gave away the rights to the other two games in the franchise.
Microsoft did try to get Bioware but failed because Bioware wants to go with EA. And nobody wants Alan Wake 2, it just Remedy version of Scalebound.
Jordan Jones
They have no body high enough up that actually likes games to realize what future hits are in the making. And what studios are worth keeping. They just run Xbox like the Windows and all the other failing divisions.
Luis Powell
Still, Remedy would have been a good acquisition or at least continuing to partner with them would have been good for Xbox exclusives
Now Remedy is basically independent but they have a publishing/funding deal with Epic
Jayden Miller
>Windows >failing division Lol
Dominic Baker
I always find it funny because the franchise nobody care suddenly because biggest franchise ever once it leave Microsoft.
Seriously, stop pretending these are mega hit titles.
Jackson Lewis
yea they need people whose entire job is to facilitate second and third party exclusive partnerships with dev studios
OG xbox and 360 had a bunch of them even a surprising number from japan the xbox one had next to none
Logan Hernandez
Gimme da echs-bawks
Jackson Ramirez
>their most recent ps4 game was the order 1886 Jesus that was years ago. How is it possible for a studio to do nothing for years and not hit bankruptcy?
Austin Evans
Remedy is public company, buying them will cost like 3 times of insomniac, and none of their game except Max Payne is big hit, but Max Payne is already a Rockstar IP.
Cameron Bennett
>I always find it funny because the franchise nobody care suddenly because biggest franchise ever once it leave Microsoft what franchise?
Zachary Rivera
Microsoft's game division now is very different from what it was in 2013.
Justin Adams
Yeah man Windows is so successful, but they just felt like implementing an entire POSIX compatibility layer and new BASH-like terminal for the fuck of it. It's definitely not because the ever-increasing interest in linux and ever-decreasing trust in Windows is a massive threat or anything.
Noah Bailey
At least make coherent sentences before throwing shit esl-chan
Anthony James
after the order they made one more multiplat game and 4 oculus rift games
they havent made a console game since 2015 theire last 4 projects were VR oculus rift exclusives
Microsoft should buy them if theyre not working on anything for playstation which it seems they arent
Chase Edwards
>How is it possible for a studio to do nothing for years and not hit bankruptcy? contract work. it's how middle of the road studios say afloat and fund their future games until they land a publisher.
Brody Collins
Alan Wake, Sunset Overdrive. If people do care these games, why would Microsoft let it go? the sales don't lie.
Eli Mitchell
people liked sunset overdrive I never heard how much it sold which always made me think it didnt sell well
even still microsoft should have realized they had a catch with insomniac who until that point had made only playstation games people were shocked they were making an xbox exclusive
Colton Peterson
Alan Wake was unironically ahead of its time. Imagine if it had come out during the rise of pretentious walking sims. Even though i enjoyed it minus the lacking late-game.
Robert Parker
Why Insomniac worked with Micorosft was because Microsoft allow let them own Sunset Overdrive IP, so they never have chance to lock that game since beginning.
Henry Perry
That was the intent but since the team is made up of a lot of ex Sony devs, I'm sure they wanted to not do a cinematic adventure game for once.
Charles Morgan
Because they have potential. The first Assassin's Creed was very shallow but it turned into a multi million dollar franchise. There's tons of improvement that could be made for both of those titles.
