Zig Forums kind of tricked me with this one. I bought it on sale last week and I expected more tbf. At first I almost quit. The tutorial was way too fucking long but at least Kamoshida’s palace self was kind of cool. Then I started to figure out how the systems work and I started to like it. Once I got the hang of how everything works I realized that there is no challenge whatsoever (I completed the second palace on hard and only lost once to the painter guy). I am now in the bank palace and I am stomping through it all. I am not interested in the story at all so far but it has its moments once in a while. I will keep playing it for 10 more hours or so ( 28 so far) but if it remains as it is now this game is kind of overrated.

P3 OST >>>> P5 OST > P4 OST
P3 kills it on every single track, from Iwatodai Dorm to Deep Breath. P5 has a few great standouts but middling ambient tracks. The night theme stands out as the beat ambient track. P4 has like four good songs surrounded by a bunch of obnoxious shallow j-pop. Heartbeat Heartbreak, GAME, and the default and the golden battle themes stand out but the rest not too much. When comparing all of them, P3 is straight up in It's own league.

Do yourself a favor and just drop the difficulty down to Safe mode. Better XP and Yen gains and HP and SP resets upon death with no battle restart.
It allows you to spend less time on mementos and palaces to max out social stats and social links.

If you're reasonably competent in RPGs you can break these games in half by making half decent Personas. The battle system isn't deep enough to make a challenge satisfying anyway imo.

Persona 4 was decent. It went for a different goal but it was still pleasant.
Persona 5 yeah kinds blows. The novelty of the double-life mechanics was wearing thin.
Persona 2 has good writing though.
