Physical versions of games rarely go on sale and/or are overpriced compared to their digital versions

Convince me not to go full digital on Switch.

Nintendo has no refund policy
If you buy a game and it's shit you're stuck with it

>the physical games are more valuable

You just made the case against yourself.

what?
youd get physical cheaper must easier than digital

walmart or amazon always has sales on switch games of atleast 10 bucks but theyre always full price on the switch eshop

Once the eshop servers shut down you will have no means to redownload the games

Cant move sd card of game from switch to switch

Can only play using one profile

If switch is not primary switch, cannot play digital game unless its online.

Learn English.

check if its the same as the wii u

if your wii u died you had to call nintendo to transfer your games/data to a new one lol

You'll have to buy an SD card.
Also if you're a burger Walmart routinely sells new Switch games for $50, sometimes Amazon too.

buy your games used on ebay like a real man

prices can get dramatically low

>Can only play using one profile
this is not true at all

Is there a site to compare prices for physical games like CheapShark does for digital PC releases?

ebay

Overpriced on physical? Amazon sells all games at the same price as digital. I guess Nintendo games are out of stock, but when I check PS4 games on Amazon, their base price is the same as the game’s price on a Steam sale

Same applies to all physical games regardless of console. Once you rip open the seal it's yours. Best you can do is sell it on eBay for slightly under retail price and pay selling fees on top of that.

*full piracy
Imagine not owning a RCM vulnerable switch in the year of our lord 2020.

This is the only reason to go all-digital. Buy physical, pirate digital.

>Also if you're a burger Walmart routinely sells new Switch games for $50, sometimes Amazon too.
is that supposed to be a low price?

Digital never goes on sale either, at least not for first party games

what happens if you have a digital game on an sd card and the switch you've been using that game to play dies:

1. Before eshop shut down?
2. After eshop shut down?

>physocal games rarely go on sale
First party games sure. Anything else will go on sale and I almost never pay full price for a physical switch game.
Just use dekudeals to keep track of when shit you want goes on sale
dekudeals.com/

>1. Before eshop shut down?
Buy new Switch and sign in to your account so you can redownload your game.
>2. After eshop shut down?
Download Switch emulator because by the time Switch eshop gets taken down it will be fully functional.

Don't...you will regret it in the future, trust me.

All my games except SMO and BotW are digital, can travel safely without worrying about losing a small piece of plastic.

It's $10 cheaper than digital.

Just bought arms physical for 20 bucks off. Why does this game have such good netcode? Did nintendo REALLY make this?

>the best you can do is try to recoup some of your losses
Um, that is kinda the point isn't it? I've had years where I made more money then I spent by selling used games. God I miss Best Buy's Gamer's Club...

With proper digital games sellers you have a "trial" period during which you can play the game and refund it in full if you don't like it.

>after countless people just got their accounts stolen
good luck

>buy switch at launch
>2 years later realise all games are still full price and I'll never get they games I was waiting for at what they are worth.
>sxos
>free games
>only finished 2 of the 30 or so I've downloaded.

Max I spend for 99.9% of games now is 20 bucks. I guess I should never get a switch

"Proper" digital game sellers can also disable a game you already bought because they either want to ban you for something or because they lost a license. That is why digital is a service and not a good.

Just don't play shitty multiplayer games. I've never heard of losing license to sell resulting in deactivation of purchased games. Even delisted games on Steam are still downloadable for those who purchased them.

>I've never heard of losing license to sell resulting in deactivation of purchased games
Its been a bigger problem on mobile I think, but the fact that it can legally happen on one system just shows that it is a real problem and not just some sort of fallacy.

Its an emotional/aesthetic things. Its kind of like how when it comes to reading I will never be able to read from an E-reader despite digital versions of books being a fraction of the cost. I just need that book in my hand, feeling the weight and paper gives whatever I'm reading substance. I know it's not the exact same thing but I guess having the physical copy of the game has the same effect. That initial opening of the game case just makes you that much more excited.

Nigga, you could die tomorrow, I don't give a fuck about ur virgin problems regarding games and whether you want own them physically or not.

>Convince me not to go full digital on Switch.
The DS online servers were shut down.
The Wii online servers and eshop were shut down.
The 3DS and Wii U online servers and eshop are being shut down in some countries in July.
Eventually the 3DS and Wii U online servers and eshop will be shut down everywhere.
The Switch will suffer the same fate

If you're okay knowing that some day you won't be able to redownload games and all of your eggs will be in one basket if your Switch ever dies, then go right ahead, go digital. As someone who has had a GameCube and 3DS die, I prefer to decouple my games from my systems whenever possible so that if twenty years from now my Switch dies, I can just buy a used one and still have my games (and yes, I know and am annoyed that I'll lose my save data in that scenario).

just don't buy shitty games
