It runs like shit on emulator.
I guess I'll have to buy a PS2, then.
Does Namco really have to pay millions just to use official plane names? Sounds stupid imho.
Ace Combat PS2

5 and zero have tweaks you need to do but then they run perfectly. 4 is still scuffed as far as I know, unfortunately.
Get a fat PS2 and network adapter so that you can slap an HDD in it.
What does it look like as messed up on the emu? Is it unplayable?
pcsx2 is such a high quality emu
>It runs like shit on emulator.
Nigga how fucking bad is your PC?
I played AC4 on PCSX2 in software mode with no framedrops at all.
>Does Namco really have to pay millions just to use official plane names?
I doubt Namco pay anything, having the official planes in the game is great for marketing and generating interest in fighter jets.
>software mode
kek
Western box art for old AC games always look like shit
It stutters a lot. Furthermore, my plane is black.
Does it have English text and voice?
idk
I think alot of japs play it in english dub so probably
Are you on software mode and is your cpu good? I havent played 4 but SW is usually not horribly inaccurate
Software mode is the native PS2 experience. If a game runs perfectly in software mode there is no need to buy a fucking PS2 to play it.
Are you running in software mode?
Are you using a recent build of PCSX2?
Is your computer a toaster?
If a game doesn't run in hardware mode, there's no capability to stand how awful it will look to play it at all.
>If a game runs perfectly in software mode there is no need to buy a fucking PS2 to play it.
Enjoy playing your blurry 240p 20-30fps mess.
>still have my old PS2
>can play my old PS2 games without needing an emulator
feels good, mang
>I can't tolerate games looking the way they did on real PS2 hardware
Fuck off retard, you don't deserve emulation.
I bet they look like shit too.
AC4 runs at the correct 60fps and 480i on PCSX2 in software mode.
it's a fucking PS2 game
of course they look like shit
>tfw can't find a decent ps2 controller
>he thinks PS2 games look better running in HD than they do in native res
Don't understand how some people can be this tasteless. Shining the brightest possible spotlight on how crude the models and textures are will ruin the atmosphere of any older game. Play it the way it was intended.
That's some high level cope lmao.
Coping with what exactly? I can emulate PS2 games at 4K if I want, I just don't because I'm not a tasteless retard like you.
Not true. In 4k, ugly games stay ugly, while pretty games look better. The incorrect premise is:
> how crude the models and textures are
I have played 4,5,0 in 1080p with pcsx2 multiple times, each time the emulation is getting better. It always runs at 60 fps even when I triple or quadruple the render resolution. it 7600, 16gb ddr4 and rx580. But this shit did the same thing when I had a 750ti as well. You need to set it up correctly, here is a tutorial for doing so. Enjoy user. youtube.com
>Does Namco really have to pay millions just to use official plane names?
They must have to pay something, because I know Project Wingman isn't using the official names. For example, PW's Su-27 is called the Sk-27 instead. On the other hand, Vector Thrust had all the official plane names and the official weapon names, and it certainly didn't have Namco's budget, so the names can't be *that* expensive.
Cherish it, user. I lost my PS2 and all its games in a flood, and I'm still crushed by that loss.
PS2 games looked good enough to do anything.
>Does Namco really have to pay millions just to use official plane names?
Yes.
I need a new TV if I ever wanna play my PS2 again, the one I have is shit and is too small and has the sound sucks as well.
