No FF today
At least it ain't 5 frames anymore
>no FF
Freed schedule then? Will probably join in alittle bit once PSO2 maintenance starts.
I'm sure he'll have more time to play FF tomorrow.
Just not enough today
How far is your brother? Is it okay if I give you a small spoiler?
Also >that ex grab
For whatever reason I never gave much consideration into other players in the room also having an effect on the delay
Are implying my leaf fibre is somehow affect your matches with other people?
Not you specifically but generally yes. Though I want to say it's just in my head but it's something I've kept noticing since clr dropped with a few others too
He hasn't made much progress after last night's Shiva fight. I don't really care what you tell me about FF though
Any tips for a fledgling Mika player?
Alright, well tell him to keep steal equipped on someone when he's doing train graveyard. That chapter is long as fuck and there's a weapon you can steal for Aerith at the very end (it's the same enemy as the original). You don't unlock chapter select until you beat the game so he'll have to wait a long time to get it if he misses it here.
if you're respecting your opponent you're losing
what advice do you need in specific? she has really good mix and stagger windows, so mess around with those if you want to figure stuff out yourself. otherwise just keep in mind to not rely too much on specials to open people up since those are kinda netplay strats
Focus on winning CS every time so you can 623 > EX/CS and generally be the most fucking annoying thing possible
I'm new to fightan bros, should I be learning a bunch of combos for my character or do I focus on the two I know until I can do them perfectly?
Oh shit
combos are one thing, but you don't truly know how a character is played until you play against other people. Do a few combo trials then try to play some people once you got a bread 'n butter combo you can do consistently. If you like 'em then stick with 'em. If you don't then try someone else
Focus on combos that you can do consistently in a match first. Typically the more basic and universal the better
Is the only way to confirm off of Byakuya's 214~X>C to chain shift out of it?
The only generic tips I feel I can give is
>Abuse her run speed, it's one of her greatest tool
>Abuse your normals, they're all natural frame traps when staggered slightly and can lead into strong combos
>Until you know what the other characters can do, be prepared to eat shit in every MU since you're outranged by everybody
>Don't be afraid to use missile in neutral but don't overextend
After actually spending some time with nanase some more in lab I've come to realize that I have zero idea what to do with anything that isn't permutations of her 236BC starter.
You start your combos yelling "Potemkin" and end on "Gal Undo" This will increase your winrrate tenfold
she has a really strong tic throw game because of her 2A pressure, which she can do up to 4-5 times on block. Other standard gimmicks like mixing up charge j.C on block or whiffing into 2A/throw. learn to space her 3B so just the tip hits, makes it harder for the opponent to try and punish if you don't cancel into a special after

Talking with my brother is taking up a lot of concentration and play time.
Nostalgiafagging is too fun
What can't more anime players be like you guys? Fuck the rest of them. You are the only ones I can stand.
I really need to use Chain shift more
I tried doing her run under combos and I hate it.
The GG group hosting friday lobbies recently are pretty good too.
Ur a fgt
There have been assholes, but they either weren't hosting lobbies or were just shitposting.
>Internet didn't cut out
>Couldn't join the room for a while anyway
Fucking netplay
>What can't more anime players be like you guys?
Blame discord and online personalities, I guess.
That happens to me sometimes too
The basics to nearly every character can easily be summed up as:
Figure out their good buttons (Fast, Long range ground pokes)
Figure out their good anti-air (Some games have essentially designated anti-air buttons, but anything fast, that has a tall looking attack that hits above you is usually good) so that you can beat people up who jump, your poke means nothing if people just jump at you all the time.
Figure out a simple combo that you can easily do, doesn't need to be more complex than just ABC Special to be usable.
That's all you need to play at a beginner level, as you get better, you can figure out more nuanced and complex stuff.
However, if you enjoy grinding in training mode, have at it. Playing against other people is very different than training mode due to the pressure though.
