Holy shit, bros. I've just finished this, what an amazing game. If Xenoblade Chronicles isn't the best JRPG of all time then what is? I like virtually everything about this game: the combat, the characters, the story, the world, etc.

My only gripe with this game was the blue balls and the quests tied to them... but that shit has been fixed, even the added "fashion" slots, I don´t know what else, this is a very good contender IMO, it could be a bit more open, but fuck it, each area feels big enough that makes up for it to a degree, and now you can choose to not be overleveled as fuck for doing side quests so... yeah, I love it, and every problem the original version had, X for the Wii U had it tenfold, the fucking blue ball side quests and enemy drop shit were a pain in the fucking ass.

Ok, name us your high standards for JRPGs, fucko, specially modern ones.

Expert mode makes the game so much more enjoyable, holy shit. You no longer ruin the story segments by doing sidequests.

Disc 2 is the greatest part of Xenogears, yes it's awful that it's mostly walls of text, but those walls of text are what inspired the hypest moments of XC1.
Even as unfinished as it is, that disc manages to shit on most JRPGs that exist

I just finished it as well. I'd given up on the game on both the wii and 3ds, but i'm glad I finally finished it for the first time on switch. Honestly, I hope the XB1 cast gets another game or appear in XB3

We have enough RPGs that are just glorified walls of texts. Many predating Gears.

Had to return it to someone I borrowed it from on the Wii. I made it to the Jungle before having to stop. When it came out on the 3ds I got stuck at the battle with Mumkhar in the snowy area and I didn't want to grind. Fast Forward to now, I took my time to actually understand all the systems and worked on side quests (The new UI helped since it was very clean and easy to absorb). Though I wont lie, I did use casual mode from Egil to Zanza since I wasn't gaining levels often near the end. Zanza was thankfully still a challenge with it on. Also is Mechonis permanently fucked to the point where I can't 100% areas there anymore?

Getting filtered by Leone the Telethia and fuck grinding six levels when they'll probably do the same to me for the next boss.

Lorithia, Dickson and Zanza are all a pain in the ass. I managed to beat Zanza with level 78 though

The gameplay is a bit more simpler, but the setting and the exploration are better. As far as main characters go, Shulk starts out much stronger than Rex, but he falls out by the end of the game because of several reasons, while Rex is the complete opposite, he starts as an annoying kid, but he matures a lot throughout the story. The rest of the cast is pretty great as well.

It's better in every way except for the graphics

I was level 75 when I reached the Spoiler. Turned off Casual for a good fight, missed every attack, died and then turned it back on.

Didn't you kill anything at all on your way? I think you are supposed to be overleveled at this point of the game. The snowy area is where the enemies/bosses start being higher level than you

You kinda need to check those intervals then sweep for quests by checking map. Some quests only trigger when talking to npcs and establishing affinity links. And well god speed if you’re autistic enough to get every affinity link since they occur by talking to npcs at different times of days and arent marked by quests

I mean yeah, I did. I was just surprised that the game didn't let me go back at all in postgame. I'd think they would just have it there so you could access everything since you've already beaten it. I'm not really mad about it, I think its actually impressive that they committed to locking off half of the areas in the game

I was level 77 and I managed to beat him because I got lucky. All those fights are luck based unless you are overleveled. If a boss decides to use some stupid -5k HP art twice in a row then you are screwed. I mean I beat the game and I still don't understand how to counter ether arts. You just heal through it I guess

The future connected story pretty much teases XB3. I’m guessing it will be a crossover with 1 & 2
