also the advantage they provided (being the main platform for big japanese third party developpers) has become obsolete now that pc pretty muxh gets all the games that matter

Because the PS3 sucked and 7th gen is where most people on Zig Forums these days really marked their console war allegiances. Nintendo fanboys also see Sony as the direct opposition in the console war so that's what they focus on, and since Zig Forums is mostly Nintendo fans it looks like everybody hates Sony.
Zig Forums as a whole does not hate Nintendo. It's either Sonyfags firing back or PCfags shitting on nintendo consoles for the same reasons they shit on all consoles. Overall Zig Forums is nintendo central, with nintendo fans being the most likely to start console war shittery. They are blind to that though while they spam smash threads mostly unopposed.
Nobody gives a fuck about microsoft. Sometimes it's observed in a dumpster fire kind of way but nobody is bringing Microsoft into the console war shitfests. Any hard feelings towards MS come from the 360 when they practically invented the concept of paid online. The xbone was too nothing to even argue about.
I owned a PS4 until late 2018. The console started out great, but you could tell that they started shifting their marketing and sales strategy afterwards. In the first place throughout the generation the console lost exclusive franchises left and right, some of them have been with playstation for decades at that point. This devalues a console immensely. Ontop of that they started to censor japanese games that are even uncensored on nintendo consoles, something that has been unheard of until now. They also either don't market their more gameplay oriented IPs well or they flat out leave them to die. Things like gravity rush, bloodborne, wipeout omega collection, tearaway and now even dreams sold like absolute ass due to the lack of marketing. They shifted their focus on heavy blockbuster games that at best last you a single playthrough. It is no longer a platform for gamers, die hard fans of japanese niche titles or any other sort gameplay oriented titles. Frankly speaking the current playstation brand has not enough selling points for me to give a fuck about them anymore. I am better off with just a PC and maybe a hacked switch, but there is no longer room for any playstation products with what they currently offer.
