No Forest, Fire, Sand, Ice, Light, Mechanical, Swamp, no nothing that has ever been in a past game.
Aonuma has tasked you (yes, YOU) to come up with 9 original dungeon themes for BOTW

How about dungeons that are themed after and reference past Zelda entries: LoZ, AoL, Lttp, LA, OOT, etc.themed dungeons.
>uranium

Dinosaur

Is there some theory suggesting an outer space theme in botw2?
A dungeon where you shrink down and explore Zelda' body haha
Considering how many Zelda games there are, you’d be hard-presses to find a theme that hasn’t been done, but let me try:
>a buried city ruins
>on the body of a giant/titan (Not like a Divine Beast, but like Xenoblade or SotC)
>sea floor ruins/temple
>an area that takes you through a time warp into something like a modern European city building compound
>a temple in a dense jungle resembling an aztec ruin
>some sort of space station
>a compound or fort that is currently engulfed in a battle between two armies that Link has to navigate
I’m running out of ideas.
pluto is a planet, a dwarf planet
There was originally supposed to be outer space themes in BotW
>prison
You have to break out someone imprisoned at the center.
Or maybe steal something from a vault, since escort missions are annoying.
>abandoned mine or cave
But instead of being fire themed like the goron mines, it's dark and narrow.
>jungle
Has this really not been done already? I haven't played all zelda games.
>twilight realm again
But this time, make it longer than two hallways with the same puzzle at the end.
A Time based dungeon, essentially a "2 world" type deal where you jump from one era to the other in order to accomplish tasks.
An extremely Vertical dungeon. Think large central elevator that you power as you go. Puzzles are vertical in their thinking as well.
A forward progression like dungeon. Rather than having to circle back to explore the same room from different angles, each room propels you forward to the end goal, which of course is at the end of the chain. Like a Train working from the caboose to the engine.
>Time based dungeon
Skyward Sword did this.
IMO he should reuse the themes and just make them more grand
How about forest? I'm shocked it hasn't been done yet.
>Rather than having to circle back to explore the same room from different angles, each room propels you forward to the end goal, which of course is at the end of the chain
You just described a linear hallway.
>first dungeon is a Z1 dungeon
>you fight aquamentus
Titty
Ass
Feet
Armpit
Thighs
Hips
Vagina
Hair
Mouth
Your last sentence gave me an Idea of an engine/mechanical themed dungeon
I'm bored enough. The dungeons are meant to be themed after certain things but it's bound to happen due to locales
>Ancient Caverns (a series of caves interwoven with tree roots deep below Faron Woods, entry tutorial dungeon)
>Necluda Waterway (a series of caves and manmade tunnes carved into the cliffs around the Lanayru Promenade, main focus is blowing free waterways to direct the flow of water to the center chasm, draining a part of the promenade)
>Sunspire (ancient tower in the midst of a sandstorm. Focus is on activating an ancient machine that clears the sandstorm and going back through the dungeon navigating light puzzles)
>Zora Glacier (a massive glacier far north of Hyrule, is a combination of a large overworld area about half the size of the plataeu, including a Zora settlement, and interior sections)
>Snowspire (the Sunspire's "twin", located in Hebra. It is in ruins and the goal is to climb to the top, just to descend into hidden basement levels carved into the rock)
>Grand Mill (a massive oversized windmill structure located in the ruins of a town overgrown by a young forest. The town itself is part of the dungeon and contains the keys needed to navigate the Mill. By oversized, think of "Snowpeak.")
>train level
Yes please. Those are always top tier levels in any game. Imagine some sheikah tech-powered train that's perpetually running on a track that goes around the whole map.
Best part of the game desu
Bugs
Haunted
Battlefield
Weeb
Mini/Giant
Mushrooms
Hunting
Greco-Roman
Light dungeon
>Citadel Ruins (the Akkala Citadel interior, which is being excavated by a team from Tarry Town. Contains undead soldiers, old and broken Sheikah tech, and something of a mystery to solve in order to reach the center. Deeply connected to Faoroe)
>Shrine of the Eighth Maiden (a large dungeon carved into both sides of the ravine north of the Gerudo Mesa where the 8th maiden is found, containing some of the most devious puzzles in the game. Connected tp Nayru)
>Source of Power (ancient obsidian temple located within Death Mountain. Focused on brute forcing your way to the heart of the volcanic structure, combat heavy. Connections to Din)
>Underworld Labyrinth (final dungeon, a massive sprawling maze located underneath central Hyrule approximately twice the size of the great plateau. A huge maze)
Dungeons based on emotions.
Dungeons based on animals.
Dungeons based on hearts of people.
Dungeons based on different time & space.
I could go on, I think elements based dungeons are kinda overused right now.
Log Cabin
>I'm shocked it hasn't been done yet.
>lost woods
>forest temple
Ego
Control
Wrath
Hunger
Fear
Hate
I tried to go for a theme of internal and external areas existing and flowing seamlessly into each other like Hyrule Castle. Upon a reread I realize I used the term "carved into the rock" way too many times.
Heard it was amazing but I didnt even like skyward sword enough to get that far
Though I wanted to
>train becomes decoupled at one point in the dungeon
>you have to use your newfound hookshot to get to the other side of the train before it leaves your ass
>Imagine some sheikah tech-powered train that's perpetually running on a track that goes around the whole map.
>enemes can knock you off the train if you're not careful
>depeding on where the train was at the moment, you can end up anywhere on the map
Also the nigger dungeon
and ambient cave lighting with the train glowing a bright florescent hue...I need this
We need this
I don't care what level it's in, but I want more light/mirror puzzles like in Prince of Persia SoT.
There are probably better examples, but it's the only one I can think of right now.
>crystal mountain/cave with mirrors and visual tricks
>abyssal temple (actual abyss which means darkness and deepwater creatures)
>moon surface/high tech structure with gravity mechanics
>clock tower dungeon like a huge big ben
>shinto style temple with yokais
>opera house (can even add underground tunnels and lake like in the phantom of the opera)
that's all I've got
Literally spirit temple
Crow theme
Saturn theme
Bed theme
Weather theme
Cooking theme
VR theme
Noise theme
Friendship is Magic theme
Deer theme
>dungeon that is entirely based off a town
>dungeon you have to build yourself in order to progress through
>dungeon based off another Nintendo franchise
>dungeon based off using Epona/horse
>dungeon that is basically just climbing up a colossal creature
>dungeon that plays with gravity physics
>"psychologic" dungeon that fucks with you 4th wall style (messes with menu, map, doors will randomly appear and disappear, say it will delete your save when you die etc.)
>quiz show dungeon where you have to answer trivia and play minigames to progress
>dungeon based off food
just throwing stuff out there
>with gravity mechanics
Never again please
>Temple of Silence
>Temple of Melodies
>Temple of Symphony
>Temple of Encore
>Temple of Cacophony
>Temple of Euphony
>Temple of Harmony
>Crescendo Tower
>Dolce Glade
>no nothing that has ever been in a past game.
Literally fucking impossible without doing dumb shit like "Abducted by aliens."
>noise theme
Thats a good Idea
Fractals
Iron rich cave-magnetic theme
time bucle

Animalgraveyard
Keep the fire (Olympics stick style)
tower defense dungeon (not really a dungeon but zelda fucks up and activates a shitton of machines that are going to atack a little village and you two with 5 villagers organize a defense when the attack unfolds in a 7 samurais kind of way
mirrors and duplicate worlds dungeon
Last dungeon is purely based on some kind of evil wizard tower with a large part being a library
