How's Dark Souls on the switch? and how is the game in general? It's currently on sale so and i'm interested in picking it up.

Never played any of the Dark Souls games before but i've played Bloodborne quite a bit so i'm familiar with how the games more or less play.

it's the ps3 version with stable framerate and snes tier audio quality

It's 30fps and runs/looks decent, but the audio is bad.

Dark Souls runs better on the Switch than Bloodborne does on the PS4.

It’s 30fps, 1080p. It’s the original game without the remaster edits, if that turned you off. No issues with it, unless you’re autistic and can’t comprehend 30fps gameplay or your eyes bleed from 1080p.

Audio sucks
Confirm is set to "B" and Back is set to "A" which gets confusing since normal switch games use the opposite format

Good, but really bad sound.

Forgot this. The audio is super-compressed and has never been patched. Not at all ideal, but not going to wreck the game if you aren’t sensitive to sound design.

I'll take the somewhat shittier framerate of bloodborne over the yify tier audio dark souls switch has

This is a meme. I played 100 hours of it mostly in docked mode and didn't notice anything bad about the audio quality.

PS4 version is 60 fps, so you'd definitely want to have that version, but the Switch version will probably hold its value more because it's on a physical card.

the chink company that remastered it cheaped out on cartridge sizes, so we got really really shitty audio. It's otherwise the best version of the remaster.

yes, and?
idgaf about 30fps, as long as it;s stable \
bit is "bad audio" a meme or is it honestly bad? like is the quality bad or what?
i love bloodborne but yeah it's pretty rough at times

Definitive version

It’s completely fine. People here will complain about the audio but it sounds fine unless you’re petty as fuck

okay buddy

>bit is "bad audio" a meme or is it honestly bad? like is the quality bad or what?
Just look up a comparison video. It's horrendously low bitrate.

>but it sounds fine unless you have bare minimum expectations for quality
ftfy

you get your music off youtube that you listen over bluetooth and you get those sweet 1gb releases for your movies and insist that it's totally the same as seeing it in the teather

I wish I was a based retard who could enjoy literal dog shit

Then you'd absolutely hate it, it just feels so slow and clunky compared to BB. Your only option right now is to play Sekiro.

Most sounds are fine, some are horrid and noticeable, it's straightforward DS1 otherwise

>Most sounds are fine
No, every sound is compressed, it's not just a handfull that are but every single sound is fucked
Why the fuck are people defending this dogshit?

Its a great port. Portable Dark Souls. Spiffy.

It's only noticeable if you compare them side by side. When you're just playing the game it's perfectly fine.

Game played surprisingly well for me on Switch

so "bad audio" is literally just a meme ok

i had $10 in eshop coins so i got the game for $15, thanks everyone for the responses
anybody have some beginner tips or things i should know?

I only notice a handful of sounds being awful, settle down faggotron it's not an indefensible port by any stretch.

The fact that they set confirm to B and cancel to A with no option to switch them pissed me off enough to stop playing after about an hour

PICK THE MASTERKEY

WHEN YOU REACH FIRELINK SHRINE, DONT GO TO THE SKELETON REGION, OR DOWN THE ELEVATOR, GO TO THE ROAD THAT LETS YOU SEE SOMETHING LIKE A BRIDGE OR AQUEDUCT ON THE DISTANCE

Thankfully a recent Switch update lets you change that around from the main menu, but it was a retarded decision and the buttons should've been map-able in-game.

Don't listen to this faggot. The master key will fuck you up and make the game way more difficult than it should be on your first playthrough.

>telling someone to pick the master key for their first play through
don't do this also level up resistance it will help with blighttown
