They got taken over by their own fanbase and are afraid of them. When they were just seven guys hanging out and fucking around in Halo they were great. Then they ended up with like 500 employees and couldn’t control it anymore. Now the fans basically control what content they make and what how the employees act because if anyone steps out of line they revolt. I’m sure Burnie and Matt will still keep in touch with Joel but they’ll never publicly admit to it for fear of the mob.
