why is it called bloodborne?

What's the deal with the whole nightmare areas?

It's a painted world, painted with the Blood of the Dark Soul.

I've never played Bloodborne. What's the whole thing about? What's the in-universe reason the player character gets revived when he/she dies?

IT WAS ALL A DREAM, USED TO READ DAS MAGAZINE..

Explain that weird centipede thing you kill before you fight Rom

The term "blood-borne" refers to disease being carried through blood, and in Bloodborne disease is carried through blood.
Can you be more specific about this?

What do blood vials taste like?

how big is the main characters dick?

I've watched most of the vaati videos, but I still don't understand the difference between the white church hunters, the black church hunters, and the choir. Also who made the one reborn and why?

not op but if I remember right, they are a mental projections that were conjured by the School of Mensis. Name Mikolash in the end. idk its been forever

How tf do conventional fire arms not work on beasts when your melee, which shits on them isnt enhanced in any way beside being swung by a stronger than average person.

can you give me a TL:DR about what the fuck is going on, never played it. Half the time I hear everones head canon instead of just whats actually happening.

Do you think were to assume the Brain is "sympathetic" as the Moon rune says? Is the "frenzying" intended?

It tastes like BLOOD.

why is rom called the idiot spider in jap?

Are the Old Ones aliens or extra-dimensional?

that's one interpretation, but certainly not confirmed canon

What was Moon Presence's goal?

Like, i don't even remember exactly, but there was a area literally called "Nightmare Frontier", it was a real nightmare? i don't remember almost nothing about Bloodborne so i must have forgotten something, but the idea of playing in a nightmare sounded weird for me.

not op
They're really both technically. Given all the Lovecraft inspiration it would be inferable that they are inter dimensional.

Thank you, user

Yup. Fextralife has some pretty incredible pages on lore. Unfortunately BB has the smallest amount of confirmed/proven theories.

Why does patches the spider worship amygdala and wish to feed your essence to it?

The player character is half-dead but is unable to fully die due to their tremendous will and the mark they've been branded with. Upon death, they wake up in the Hunter's Dream and then return to the world still living.
It's an example of "impure ascension." There isn't much to it except that it absorbs moonlight for power through its flower.
White church hunters spread the scourge on purpose for research, black church hunters kill beasts and potential beasts, and the Choir try to commune directly with the Great Ones through the stars.
Regular firearms do have an effect on beasts, it doesn't say they don't in Japanese. It's just a quirk of the English localization.
Yes, in fact, that rune is supposed to only refer to the Mensis Brain. It's a mistranslation in English, it's supposed to be like a gameplay tip.
It depends on the blood, but usually sweet.
Why? That's what it is.
They're transcendental aliens.
It just wants to eat.
It's the same idea as playing in the abyss in Dark Souls.

why the fuck is everyone obsessed with having more eyes?

I just know that I get into arguments all the time with my friend over it. He think they're interdimensional because of, like you said, the Lovecraft inspiration. I maintain the stance that they're aliens because of the multiple references to the stars/cosmos and the fact that a call beyond opens up a portal to space. I also like starting arguments of Kos vs Kosm even though I know it's Kos.

Where is Niggerman?

He's a Mensis dude and they worship Amygdala.

Eyes represent enlightenment, and enlightenment is how suffering can be escaped.

Dear lore sage

Why is the great one (forget its name) invisible and or just doesn’t have a physical form? How I’m the fuck did it get that one girl pregnant

Well thats really both again. Especially when considering the Outer Gods, who are in the deepest reaches of space.

>PlagueOfAids
holy shit his quality really has taken a nosedive.

I think because they wanted to personify a type of sinister evil that can't be fought against directly. It got the girl pregnant because she has impure blood, and impurity produces life.

i think they're just called "great ones" but Amygadala is the only named one that comes to mind, that the one you're thinking of?

not op
mental capacity is totally not the right phrasing, but the "insanity" from insight gives you the ability to see them (and once the moon change or whatever, I forget) where as humans typically are not capable of processing such a thing. And as the prophecy and runes tell, once the moon shifts there will be emasculate births. I remember shitting my pants when I found the prostitute by the chapel of Oedon.

Why did hunters stop using the Saif, when it's the funnest trick weapon and works perfectly well against beasts, the blood-drunk, and kin alike?

It doesn't provide addtional damage to beast type enemies.

I'm not well versed on Lovecraftian lore, but I have to wonder if the Old Ones originated in space and unlocked inter-dimensional abilities, or if they came from the other dimension and just took up residence in space with the exception of a select few?

Is the Plain Doll anatomically correct?
