All the flaws of modern video games, including paid off reviews.

When you ignore the score for a paid review and actually read what they've written, quite often it's pretty clear what they really think.

Gaming journalism really cannot be trusted. Publishers have the whole industry firmly in their pocket

>what
Um, time for a reality check, sweetie.

Hey, I just bust a vein reading this shit 3 minutes ago.

I think it's pretty obvious that modern game journalist have a few things they show prioritize. Story, graphics and sound design.

Polygon's review has seemed pretty spot on

Why did you post that? The review you posted makes sense while the review OP posted doesn't make sense. What the fuck are you talking about?
I perfectly understand "I nutted, 10/10" as a review.

In that regard it seems far worse than Spec Ops. At least in that, the character is questioning everything halfway through, and the only bullshit you can't decide on is using white phosphorus.

Fuck me, never would have expected Polygon to buck the trend and not step in line with every other reviewer.

NPC take. Sounds like they didn't even play the game.

link to review?

Yeah it's really surprising, but their review seems like the only honest one I've seen so far. I unironically suggest a read.

So what's wrong with a fixed narrative in a game?
You, the player, aren't Ellie. You shouldn't feel like the game is chastising you since you aren't Ellie

>NOOOOO NOT THE DOGGOS
these are the same people that cry you gutted a pitbull if it was killing their child

Skillup's is pretty good too, keeps saying the game insists on being bleak constantly and that it's basically torture porn the whole time, which is the feel I'm getting from some of these reviews

>*this* is why more than 110 million people own a PlayStation 4."
i bet this fag comes here and participate in console war threads

It comes into the conflict with the guilt the game directs on to you, the player, rather than the character, since you, the player, actually have no choice in the matter

Again, how is the game shaming you? Are they looking you straight in the eye and reciting your SSN while chanting "ALL YOUR FAULT, ALL YOUR FAULT?"

delusional, the game doesn't force you to do anything, you don't have to continue playing it. These are the people I'm supposed to believe if they say they got raped?

From the all of the reviews, it seems like the game is constantly telling you that killing people is wrong, and tries to manipulate you into feeling bad for just playing a game. Why is the onus on the player to feel bad?

Just like Death Stranding

>It's incredibly boring and uninteresting
>10/10

this is even more blatant and obvious than Mass effect 3's paid reviews were

Isn’t that the point? Wasn’t that the point of the first game? You have no control over the narrative, the game can stressful to play, and that combination was crafted to make a unique experience. When you play ANY game, you’re met with a specific rule set, parameters, essentially entering a contract between creator and player. You generally know full well what you’re getting into. The intro of the first game set those expectations.

You don’t bitch when Tetris gives you 3 shitty blocks in a row. It’s part of the game

That's pretty great actually. I liked spec ops for this kind of thing too.

Again, why should you feel bad?

That's journalism, baby!

I legit didn’t want to finish the first game because I didn’t give a fuck about Ellie and disagreed with Joel

These are the type of people giving the game 10's

second skillups He's basically a normal shill, so if he actually has negative shit to say I pay attention because it must be really bad

You know if fucking polygon is saying it, it must be bad.

>its not perfect, but I'll give it a perfect score anyways
cant make this shit up

It sounds like he fucking wants to review a movie! Why are there actual people on here defending this shit and these type of reviewers?!
