Have you read those "classic" pieces recently? They're just not good. 682 for example is a boring article that consists of powerlevel wankery of a that stupid thing. It's basically a comic book villain that punches stuff except with a slightly creative containment procedure. I'm not saying that the new ones are all better. There are plenty of bad ones. One comes to mind that has a stupidly long and convoluted containment procedure (not the deer, some space portal or some shit) and others stories that don't really fit the SCP format. Not a fan of tales either. But generally people did learn to write more creative and interesting stories.

The best SCPS always have been and always will be the joke ones.

Aditionally, I've got to say that 5001 was one of the most dissapointing scps I've read. It starts out with this great sense of mystery and intrigue but by the end of it every single detail is pretty much revealed, ruining the sense of mystery the scp previously had. Such shit.
