The game retained its charm and quirkiness all throughout the game, and was an excellent sequel as far as series go with likeable characters, good gameplay, and a great story.

Sword and Shield is just more of the same which is most people's biggest complaints and even when they were cutting pokemon, they made sure to keep the fan favourites like Charizard and Lucario and had them prominently featured in the game. It's not a 'fuck you', it's lazy and uninspired which is the opposite of what this thread is about

Once you hit the 2nd gym there is a plethora of top tier choices like Drillbur, Timburr, Sandile, Darumaka, Tympole, Scraggy, Blitzle, Venipede, Sewaddle, Dweeble, Karrablast, Shellmet, Mincino, Sigilyph, Joltik, Tynamo, Emolga, Deerling, Litwick and more. It's not my fault you have shit taste.
