yeah this is shit. I get that they're trying to go the "moral grey area" route but Abby just immediately killing Joel without talking to him first is retarded. The writers knew that if Joel told his story then Abby would have have a reason not to kill Joel and then the story wouldn't happen.

I know, that's what the writers want you to think, but IRL it would not happen. She would have so many questions for him like.. hmm i dont know, WHY DID YOU KILL MY MOM/DAD?!?!

But even from a writing point of stance, the revenge arc is to imply that the person doing the killing only sees one side of said person. Abby only knows Joel as this murderer who sabotaged a way to cure humanity from the current disease. For Abby to see the opposite spectrum of the situation should influence her(?) morale as to question what is right or wrong.

Going that direction would've made for a more interested and complicated story. But going straight into the "kill Joel" just makes it a weak coop out and poor writing as there really isn't anything more to write after that than the other other side to taking revenge.
