Ps5 has a no discs version

>ps5 has a no discs version
It's official. Video games are truly fucking soulless and dead now.

so buy the one with the disc drive, what the fuck.

No ones forcing you to buy the disc less version you sperg. PSP had a digital only console and so did Xbone.

>NOOOOOOO CHANGE IS SOULLESS EVERYTHING HAS TO BE THE SAME AS WHEN I WAS A KID

What a whiny faggot holy fuck

First off, stop samefagging and 2, the fact that they even have a digital-only version is setting a fucking dangerous precedent. FUcking nigger zoom-zoom.

PS6 will be fully discless because they'll say nobody cares about discs anymore citing the sales of their respective versions

I'm a zoomer who loves discs why the fuck would anyone buy a console for games you don't own?

And then the Switch 2 will be the only soulful option on the market. You know the game industry is fucked when tendy would be the best option.

>The industry has been fucked for two out of the last three generations

who the fuck uses discs in 2020

I do.

PS4 is better than Switch and Pii U
PS360 were light years above the Wii

I do, or at least I did, my PS4 has that issue where it spits the disc out for no reason, which is the only thing that’s tempting me to get the discless PS5

The PSP Go made cartridges obsolete. I know what I'm talking about, as I am writing this in 2010. FUCK THE DS SHIT FOR BABIES

Just wait until they release the smaller version which only lets you stream games.

It'll cost $100 more when it costs maybe $30 more to manufacture
It's an excuse for Sony to Jew you, nothing more

DigiCHADS win again

I haven't had a disk drive in my PC since 2012, and I haven't used one since 2007 (I think the last game I used it for was Supreme Commander).

Once again, consoles are a decade behind.

Why wouldn't you want a disc drive for backwards compatibility? ...oh no, don't tell me you're an emulation shitlord.

If they were functional I'd use them far more. As it stands, the Switch is the only console that actually reads off the external memory of the game instead of just copypasting the thing over the HDD.

Half of PS exclusives sold on discs. No.

Encourage your friends and family not to buy it.
Also didn't Nintendo already do this with the wii?

Backwards compatible with what? If I want to play a game from the 90s, I just double click on it in Steam.

why the fug wouldn't you when it's the same price as digital

No. They cut off GC retrocompatibility, SD reader and internet connection. You're thinking about the PSP Go.

What if you have an actual copy from the 90s and you want to play off the original media instead of buying it again digitally?

Good, fuck discs. They're too much of a pain to always switch.

why would I want to do that

You think the one with the disk drive will be more expensive?

let me think of all the games I own from the 90s.

Escape Velocity: Digital Download in 1997. Can still download it with my key that I have in my email.
Counter-Strike: Came with Half Life.
Star Control 2: Lost it. Could just pirate it since it's Singleplayer
SimCity 2000 and 3000: Lost. Could just pirate them since they're singleplayer
Sim Tower: Lost. Could just pirate it since they're singleplayer.

I don't remember any other games I played on my PC in the 90s.

>he can't be assed to take a disc out of its case and put it into the console
The absolute fucking state of burgers

have you heard of iso files console friend

because its 1000x more soulful
Wow, you've had the same email for 23 years?

How?

Das rite

I think it's depressing how all intellectual property is moving away from ownership to a service model.
All you have is an account that the TOS says the provider can delete at any time for any reason and the law is on their side.
And it's the same not just with games, but with everything.

I'm not an emulation shitlord

why wouldnt it be? it does cost more to make

why would the ps5 need discs? it doesn't have any games.

No, 20 years. But I did a key recovery at some point in the 2000s.

>he thinks mounting iso is equal to emulation
jesus you consoletards amaze me with how retarded you are every time, you never fail to put a smile on my face

See

Yeah, sad to see the move away from ownership and people accepting it because of convenience. Worst part is you know companies don't give one shit about preservation so once those online services shut down they might be lost.

Sony never had a soul in the first place.

shutup pedo

How is having a game on your account is different to having a disk besides the hypothetical situation of Sony claiming your account and removing your games (never ever happened, but I'm sure you're an expert on things like this) or the fact that you own a license to play the game and not the game itself (it's the same with physical disks too, read the manual)

laughs in PS1-3

It's morally wrong
