I don't give a shit about this game either because RDR2 was the first AAA shit I bought in 4 years, so if the industry decides that this is the path it wants to go down that's not my problem.

it means people don't pay for the product despite the shilling. Companies pay for good reviews and pay for tickets that won't fill seats and pay for copies of games that they put back in the production to inflate purchase numbers.

Disliking a popular thing is not the same as saying the people who like it are wrong, they're just different opinions.
I wouldn't play a story driven game to begin with because I don't care for that type of game. Even with never having played TLOUII, I know I won't like it, but I respect that many people will like it.

I'm going to be 100% honest: It saddens me to see TLOU2 hailed as gaming's magnum Opus. Not because of some ridicule console wars bullshit. I have a PC, a Ps4 and a Switch.
It saddens me because TLOU2 is the least mature game I've ever seen. It's a gane that uses realistic violence as a means to shock and cause discomfort on the player in the service of a dime a dozen "revenge is bad plot" that has been done better and more tastefully by doEns of other games.
It saddens me because I realize that games with actually good writing (Yakuza 0 comes to mind) will never recieve this kind of criticism praise because they don't fit the clear mold of a cinematic on rails over the shoulder camera cinematic experience.
Most of all it saddens me because I see it as a regression for gaming. It's a game thst shares more in common with torture pirn shock like Hostel than it does with the greats of film, but gets praised like The Godfather instead.
It proves that it's the gaming media, not games themselves, that haven't grown up. It's sad and unfortunate that a game that boils down to torture porn will.be held as gaming paragon for years to come.
