Are we still pretending this wasn't, at least, an 8/10.

It's a 10/10
fpbp
I'd say 6/7 if not running by journo review schole baselines (7/10 being barely passing)
Just the soundtrack.
And the rest of the game.
Your post implies that people think its bad or anything. Any not retarded person can tell you that SMT IV was one of the best JRPGs on the 3ds. It was fantastic especially considering it was on such a limiting platform.
>Your post implies that people think its bad or anything.
Most of Zig Forums considers it a huge step down from Nocturne and SJ.
>implying "most of Zig Forums" has played any of those games
user. people who shitpost about SMT have rarely actually played it.
Hell I do think that Nocturne and SJ were better. but only slightly. Anybody who considers IV to be a "huge step down" is straight retarded
Getting lost in tokyo the first time playing... such a good feel.
This might be my favorite vidya track of all time. It's ominous yet soothing.
>Demons are glorified .pngs that with nearly all 400 of them being exlcusively one of 6 different flavors
>That clusterfuck of a world map
>all over the place difficulty curve
>getting locked into neutral forces you to complete the majority of the side quests, many of which are fucking impossible without a guide
Its ok
>That clusterfuck of a world map
Not every game needs to have quest markers.
There are quest markers and then there are just giving flat out false directions of the fucking quest logs
7/10 solid
You DID fulfil the Lord’s will alongside Jonathan, right Zig Forums?
you have my attention
I went with Walter.
Why was Isabeau pretty much non-existent until the last 20% of the game?
S O U L
I don't like apocalypse, I was so hyped for it. I replayed IV before release then went on to A. and was extremely disappointed with it such as how many unwinnable fights it threw at you, felt more cinematic with epic "story."
That overworld theme is better than IV's though.
>t. filtered
I thought that was cool. I like dungeon crawls so I'm used to long winded dungeons with backtracking.
I can see why people called the aesthetics eye-bleeding and the music grating but I liked it a lot.
Whoever designed that map for this sort of game deserves to have their fingers broken
This dungeon filtered me for 3 years. What the fuck where they thinking? Its not even hard, just endlessly fucking long and tedious
YHVH's universe is so fucking boring.
SJ's dungeons get longer but they have vetter pacing because they are tile based instead of being ultra huge.
Even womb of grief.
It started as like a 6/10 from all the exposition dump long ass intro tutorial handholding NEW INFO ADDED
then became 8/10 in the first dungeon til minotaur/dusa combo
then became 10/10 for the first few hours of tokyo exploration til lilith fight
then dropped to a 4/10 in blasted tokyo and all your base are belong to us skull tank
and then to a 1/10 from the SHITTY FUCKING FOG FOREST onwards til it hit rock fucking bottom 0
pretty good ride overall
would never ever play again even under a crosshair
>Make it to the end of the dungeon
>Poor planning so my team of demons is shit and can't beat YHVH
>All the enemies in the dungeon are non-recruitable, so I couldn't fuse new demons
I have no regrets dropping down to easy difficulty.
I’d say it’s easily one of the best JRPGs released in the 2010s with Apocalypse. If 4 had released with the gameplay fixed of 4A it would’ve been a 10/10.
That's what SMTV is for, user.
Astounding game, so bloody good.

That's not the Black Market theme.
I left the shop window open for a while for no other reason than to listen to it.
