Super Paper Mario

With Origami King being a hot topic, what did you guys think of Super Paper Mario?

The best.

worst one, not an rpg. sticker star was better.

beginning of the end

kys weeb

It was completely an RPG

I really liked it. It was my second paper mario after the n64 one

Had a great original concept of merging platforming and RPG elements.
Shame so many autists pissed on it for not being another shitty JRPG. I would have loved to see this type of gameplay explored further.

Shhhh! Your not allowed to say anything’s better than TTYD on this board! Now the hivemind will come for you!

I thought it was fun but even as a kid I felt kinda disappointed, the story with bleck and tippi didn't really jell with me and some of the levels were really really bare bones. It had some fun characters though.

Probably one of the best PaperMario games to date.

you are a fucking retard for saying such a blatant lie.

It was fun on its first playthough, but the gameplay isn't solid enough to warrant replays. The pixls are too specialized to be interesting options in battle, especially when Bowser completely breaks the combat system into tiny pieces. The environments were tedious to explore, especially with the limitations on flipping. Items are almost completely useless beyond just healing.

It's a shame, because it did have some really good ideas. The music and storytelling hold up nicely. It just stops being fun to play....

Gameplay might be suboptimal, but the stylization and unique characters and locations made the visuals 10/10. Very fun world to explore.

Sucked. The 3D flip gimmick is a total chore and mostly boils down to flipping to 3D a couple times per room to verify you aren’t missing anything. It’s extremely backloaded and you need to sit through the worst 2D platformer ever attached to a Nintendo IP in order to get to the good bits. Digital aesthetic is neat and there’s a chapter where you beat up up a weeb. On the other hand the digital aesthetic bleeds into the character designs, which are laughably bad. Especially the partners.

I think it’s Sticker Star tier unless you really get dazzled by the ending. I can’t recommend it to anybody mostly by virtue of being a complete chore to play.

awful gameplay
awful artsyle
awful characters
awful story
awful dialogue

Fuck off sandalfag

I think it heavily drops off after chapter 3
>4: float through empty space, run on empty planet
>5: run back and forth through empty caveman level
>6: world gets Hiroshima'd and is literally nothing
>7: starts off interesting in hell but the heaven part was really samey and boring

It's really bad. Just because the next two (likely three) games were even worse doesnt retroactively make it good

Killed the series by allowing them to go as far out with the formula as they wanted.
Literally no reason for it to be a paper mario game.

I enjoyed it despite it not being an RPG. PM64 and TTYD were better, Sticker Star was worse.

Garbage only loved by underaged cunts for its shitty meme localization.

even at age 13 when it came out I knew it was trash

I enjoyed it when I played it on Wii.

Haven't played it again since though.

I love mario platforming. I love mario rpgs.

see this game for the wii catalog in my gamestore.

played it, and it is unironically my favourite game of all time. the characters were great and lovable, jokes were amazing and highbrow for a mario game.
environments were indulging, remember that hell level, and we rode the river styx, and bad luigi.

puzzles were brilliant, and i loved using pixels and the 3 mechanic, to keep bending the level to find new secrets and the thrill of getting a new pixel and all the power i had.

and i loved the ending, didnt expect to catch feels and especially this heavy

i also especially loved post game. Everyone was conciouss of the games ending events. it wasnt marios usual, saved before the last boss fight schtick. I met characters in each world, to talk to them about what happened, and what they were doing now.

and i missed my old butterfly pixel who died with the sympathetic boss in her marriage. that last level always seems a bit perfect, and pretty.

this game was excellent. i was gonna be cynical and reply to everyone who says they hated this game in this thread, but it wouldnt change anything.

but ill put my two cents and say this game is very underrated, and i dont think being young and stupid is the reason i liked it.

it was colorful, excited the imagination, and had a lovable depth and personality to it.

i loved meeting that internet virgin lizard, and his unhealthy obsession with peach.

and some bosses were pretty hard.

Gameplay was a downgrade compared to the previous games, but it has better writing and music in return. Good game.

This game predicted SIMPs.

Initially hated it, but then saw everything that came after. Now I've learned to appreciate it.

>not an rpg
You can say the same of Sticker Star.

Kino. Unironically my favorite

my favorite game in the franchise

I understand why people don’t like it but I do. For me it was the last good PM game, not as good as the first 2 though.

I remember when the boomer word did not exist and bait was cleverly made in Zig Forums

Too different, not TTYD. 0/10.

It was a weird game, and it being a platformer instead of an RPG was not what anybody wanted, but it was still a really good game on it's own. That's more than the following games could say
