I heard the story is fantastic but how's the gameplay ? I want some fun fps action
I heard the story is fantastic but how's the gameplay ? I want some fun fps action
it's good now buy it nigger
Stop after 2 and don't go to infinite and youll have a good time
good
better
awful
They're all fun, just don't go into Infinite expecting more "Bioshock" after 1 & 2 / 2's DLC
B1 gameplay
>acceptable but aged poorly
B2 gameplay
>good
BI gameplay
>bad
You don't play bioshock for fps action, you play it for exploration.
i played infinite first and really liked it, maybe you should try it that way because it seems like people disliked Infinite having played the first 2.
Only have played infinite. You walk down linear corridors and shoot things. The gameplay is unremarkable and every room feels the same. The art and set pieces are all gorgeous, and the game has some exciting story moments, but the story as a whole is pseudointellectual nonsense garbage that tries to be deep, but just come across as meaningless bullshit. Get the game if you want. The setup for the story in the first 15 minutes of the game is more interesting than the actual story
should I play only the first two?
...
yes
and minerva's den for 2
Nah, I'd say at least try Infinite. It probably wouldn't get as much shit as it does if it wasn't called "Bioshock".
Story
1 >>> 2 ≥ Infinite
Gameplay
2 > 1 > Infinite
>minerva's den
what, is that a choice you can make in game?
That's what I expected sadly. Any good game on Switch to run around and shoot stuff ?
>1
servicable
>2
actually good
>infinite
god awful slog how do you fuck up this bad maybe it was a shit idea to mix cawadoody 2 weapon system with hp sponge enemies why are half these knock off plasmids the same what the fuck why are there magic pants
It's 2's DLC. It's a separate option in the menu. It's pretty damn good.
Exploration
1>3>2
people wouldn't care about it at all if it wasn't bioshock, it's a garbage shooter with a nonsense story, if it didn't have the reputation of a loved series to ruin it would go right in the enormous pile of nothing shooters just like it
Gameplay is the same between all three
Why was Bioshock Infinite called Bioshock? Bio means water, yet the game takes place in the sky
Story
1 up to the twist > 2 Minerva's Den > 2 >>>>>>>> 1 post-twist >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> shitfinite
You are the wrongest motherfucker.
Infinite's a game of decent highs and low lows imo.
I like the setting, and riding around on sky hooks, but I think it all feels spread thin in the latter half. Like they were running short on content, and just copy-pasted a a few hundred extra interchangeable soldiers to fight in every other area to pad it out.
But yeah, having the Bioshock name (as well as the final product not looking like any of the early footage that made it out to be more of a horror game), probably didn't do Infinite any favors.
>i heard the story was fantastic
You heard wrong
I'd say the atmosphere and characters are fantastic moreso than the story, least for the first two games. Infinite has jack shit going for it except Elizabeth sfm porn.
You what?
So like metroid prime?
>Bio means water
fug been a while since I heard this meme
1's gameplay is decent but has not aged well. You're mostly playing for the exploration, the setting and the big twist.
2 has aged the best out of all of them. It doesn't have a big twist or very many big wow moments, it's just telling a simple story with relatable themes and fleshed out, likable characters and it has a lot of gameplay improvements from 1. It's not going to wow you, but it's going to keep you involved the entire time and make you feel like the choices you made in the game mattered. Special mention goes to the Minerva's Den DLC which combines a lot of elements of 1 and 2 and is probably the most satisfying Bioshock experience pound for pound.
Infinite came in with lots of hype that it did not live up to. It made steps backwards from Bioshock 2 in a lot of ways, it feels like it was reaching for something the original had but it just doesn't manage it. You should play it just because it was a major game and it's important to understand why everyone feels the way they do about it and form your own opinion but don't go in with high expectations.
>The only way one can stomach Infinite is being blissfully unaware of the first 2
>Actually recommending this course of action
What the fuck? Why? Spoiling yourself on the first 2 just for the sake of starting with the worst game so it won't seem as bad? Just play 1 and 2 and never touch Infinite unless you're really desperate for another game with the name Bioshock slapped on.
1 and 2 good.
Infinite is overrated trash with one of the worst endings that ever got praised.
Yes. System Shock 1 and Prey 2017 are excellent for that style of gameplay.
retard
>the game with no exploration at all where every area is linear and which doesn't even have a proper map screen has better explorationn than 2
i'm sorry you were born with something wrong with your brain user
I like the gameplay in all of them. Fun mix of classic weapons and unique powers, cool enemy designs. They're fun
>how do you fuck up this bad
They cut 2/3 of the game, the same shit like with Mafia 2.
The gameplay didn't age well but it's still "good enough".

2 is amazing and I spent the most time playing it, only faggots care about story. BS3's story is sophomoric nonsense dressed up as intellectual. It's absolutely pathetic. BS2 proved noone needed Levine's faggotry. Based Australians made that game great.
Ehhh, Bioshock's exploration is more about finding little lore dumps with audio logs, scrounging for ammunition/cash, and encountering a few brief horror segments where sploicers try to fuck you up. There's a few Metroid-ish "oh you need to go grab the thing so you can advance" moments but there's not near as much backtracking as Prime.
1> great story and top tier characters, sumptuous locations, okay-ish combat with decent powers but subpar gunplay. Still the pinnacle of the series, imo.
2>refined combat, especially powers, but still not perfect, great touching story and decent main characters but with disappointing nemesis, worse textures and uglier levels overall. Improves one the first one on many fronts but steps back on a few other. Still a must play.
Infinite>controversial because not really open levels like the prequels, more like a corridor shooter with some branches. Looks amazing and gunplay is way better, powers allow for some of the best combos. Story isn't a good as the prequels but still good for the fps standards desu, characters are still strong, especially Liz but it's missing iconic enemies like the Big Daddies and their replacements aren't as solid. Most people are disappointed by the ending, I thought it had some plot holes but whatever. Great DLCs all around and certainly a game to play at least once.
2 literally locks you out of back tracking by destroying paths and locking down doors. And it does this constantly throughout the game.
in infinite, there is no reason to explore at any point and every level is completely linear. it loses by default, user. again, sorry about whatever happened to your brain.
In 1999 you would have said it's a really subpar FPS, since you just came off of playing Half-Life and Unreal and shit.
Nowadays bro, it's one of the better FPS lol
