It's from an ancient Zig Forums post where some poor user didn't know what to call it in reference to an image of Dream Eater Merry who have very pronounced vagina bones.
So in his ignorance he called them vagina bones, winging it hard. And the thread got a real good laugh out of it. And since Merry's vagina bones are indeed a very prominent design characteristic of hers, and wasn't just for a singular shot or anything. The term stuck around for the remainder of the anime's season and beyond with how the manga kept going.
Then that meme carried over to other shows and here we are. Years upon years later. And still call them vagina bones.

That's fair, and supported by the fact that one of the swords she shoots goes all the way to the corner even after hitting. However, they don't show how it is that the swords return. It may be automatic, but it's more likely there are extra inputs involved to make them fly back in different ways.
