When are they remaking the BEST mana game?
When are they remaking the BEST mana game?

Never it wasnt loved enough.
It just needed one thing: some challenge
>wanting to look at 3d models instead of the beautiful ps1 graphics.
nah son.
Fuck remake, just port it.
AND NO BULLSHIT FILTERS
PORT IT AS IT IS
I WANT THIS GAME ON THE SWITCH
THAT'S IT
I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT ANY OTHER MANA GAME
INJECT THIS SHIT INTO MY VEINS
What's so good about it compared to the others? I never played it.
Game was way too abstract and ahead of its time to garner sales.
Best left to the annals of history and the loving embrace of emulation mods.
>What's so good about it compared to the others?
If you want me to be honest, it's the SOTN of the series.
>incredibly nostalgic feeling to it
>super pretty
>elegant as fuck
>pretty fun gameplay
but
>easy as shit
Half the appeal of it is the balls shattering gorgeous sprite art, remaking it in 3D would defeat the entire point of why people like the game so much, at least visually speaking.
Customization, side quests that actually felt good and not the fetch and kill quests of today, customization, likeable characters, and the game didn't hold your hand but still gave you a good kick off. If they do remake it now it would suck. The quest marker would ruin it completely and they would probably make it so you can't fuck up the world map item placement.
impossible. too much SOUL
That does sound pretty good. I liked the visuals of Secret, Trials and even Sword to a degree but I found the combat kind of dull. No idea if they improved on it at all with Legend but I might give it a try anyway even if it's easy.
Also I'm guessing the series went downhill after this point, no one ever seems to talk about the later games.
Me and my sister used to play this all the time. Game's truly one of kind.
Not my favorite but i liked it because you can have monster buddies and make a robot. Plus like all ps1 games that didn't fall for the low poly 3d meme it looked gorgeous
They already remade the best game though
Absolutely loved the game. The only point that ever bothered me was the massive lack of in-game information about crafting.
It has difficulty modes and not every weapon is broken
It's a fun challenge on the higher difficulties since it turns into a "everything one or two shots you even with near perfect gear so hope you know your iframes" kind of thing and perfect play in this game is super rewarding and twitchy in a game no other Mana game is
Hey I was just listening to this song.
youtube.com
I've never played this game but the music is awesome. Yoko Shimomura's style is so unique and obvious.
Is sword of mana worth playing? I got up to the vampire guy but he basically one shot me and I havent played since.
I loved this game so much, and the SaGa team coming in and helping out on it both shows and shines in this beautiful game with its many varied and deep systems.
Basically this. I'd love a version for modern systems, even PC, that was just made to work well on those systems but was otherwise untouched.
Now imagine it getting ported to newer systems
with a shitty smooth filter on
that you can't turn off, ever
and menus are replaced with ugly as fuck sans tier letters that don't fit the artstyle at all
everyone eats it up and sees no problem with all this whatsoever
This. PC or console, I'd buy the port day one.
Game had a lot of good elements, but just didn't come together into something great.
As long as you don't use the Brownie Ring, it should be okay. Sword is still on the easy side because enemy HP values are hilariously low.
Hopefully never.
It's the best Mana game and one of the best action RPGs of all time, though. I dare you prove otherwise in your own words, because I've played this game to death both as a kid and as an adult and about the only negatives I can find is that the game poorly explains its own mechanics and that the threshold at which bosses get super armor or break from juggles is somewhat low even in no future
I don't know, Legend was a joint effort from Ishii and Kawazu, it's good mostly because it had them at the helm and a team of other capable people that aren't working for the company anymore, outside of Shimomura of course.
Now Ishii doesn't work at Square and Kawazu is too busy with using what time he has left to work on SaGa, he didn't oversee the Crystal Chronicles remaster and I doubt he would oversee a Legend remake at this point, he's the only one who would care enough to preserve what made this game good, and judging from the changes made with SD3 I don't really trust the current Mana team or Squenix to give this game the respect it deserves, I really don't want to end up with another Sword of Mana situation.
I would really only trust them if Kawazu himself oversees a remake/remaster, so that he can also personally fix what he got wrong with the original release in terms of mechanics, I don't really trust anyone else with this.
Never, LoM environment is far too detailed for SE to recapture with 3D, the plot is not simple as, defeat the big evil and save the world, and the majority of the systems are unnecessarily obfuscated, even for it's time.
What I would like, would be an actual remaster using high res scans from the originals, and some qol improvements, like displaying information during crafting.
where can I find more images like this
wow, nevermind, had no idea spriters resource extended their LOM selection so much since last I checked
