>memory card costs more than the console itself
good lord, it's like they want you to pirate all their shit

PS5 is basically repeating the same mistake they did with Vita
how so
You can use a Micro SD card 100% without pirating anything.
then why did they make their own special brand to begin with?
Convinced this is one of the reasons why the vita died. They didn't even fix this for the pstv.
that plus being an indie weebmachine wasn't as palatable in the early decade as it was when the Switch came out
Because Sony has always been full of themselves with designing new storage mediums. Memory cards, memory sticks, etc. And most of the time it's been fine, or even praised.
Always amusing when the so called unhackable design gets defeated and becomes a weakness.
>memory card costs more than the device itself
good lord, it’s like they want you to pi—wait a second...
>8TB
>64GB
hmmmmm
so you're saying all I need is a SD2Vita and I don't need to softmod the Vita whatsoever?
Nice weak ass bait there mate.
Fuck you I do what I want.
You need to softmod it as well but that's not piracy. If you were to pirate games on the Vita and you wouldn't get the SD2Vita adapter plus a MicroSD card, you'd still be stuck with over expensive Vita cards. I gave OP the solution to his problem while pointing out you don't have to pirate. Because pirating isn't the solution to his problem, it's the storage medium.
and doing this won't get your account banned after buying a game and downloading it to the Vita?
wanna have all my bases covered before trying this, because I have a bunch of PSN credit I wanna blow on Vita games but don't want my main account I also use for PS4 to get in hot water over wanting more storage
You won't get banned. I've had Enso on my Vita for over two years and I can still log into my PS4 every day, buy games, play online, etc. The Vita can't detect what storage kind is used. Especially the way it's done with how the mounting points are swapped. All what Sony can detect is what version you're on and that's spoofable with a single text field in Settings.
I've been using a hacked Vita and PSTV for years. Never been banned. Never heard of anyone else being banned either.
good to know, thank you
No one ever gets banned on vita. I've been running hacks and pirated games for two years and nothing happened
proprietary ssd
at least this time Cerny said there would be a range of "Sony approved" external options you could scout for instead of one extortionate "official brand" one
we'll have to see what the file sizes for games are on current gen and how the system compresses them on the SSD
or, just buy the one with the disc drive
>or, just buy the one with the disc drive
Literally every physical game needs to be installed on the hard drive anyway, even the PS4/X1 need to. You don't get nearly enough speed from disc drives.
but you can delete it after the fact and still have the physical copy instead of needing an external drive to store it on
>game comes out with 83GB update which replaces all disc content anyway
>playing CoD
only yourself to blame
does the Vita store still have PS1 games?
kinda wanna get Parasite Eve on it
Every game is like this nowadays user. You dont even get the full game in disk 90% of the time
Yes, and a hacked Vita can play any PS1/PSP game not available on the PSN store too.
I don't own a PS3 so can I download them straight from the Vita's store or do I have to transfer via a PS3?
You can download them via the Vita PSN store. If you have CFW, there's even a FreeShop-like app that'll let you just pirate them directly from the source.
hate to ask, but does that have a name? I have my account linked, but sales are far and few lately.
