For real though, this game is looking great. A spiritual successor to Thief which I always loved, but with more horror mixed in.The graphics look like they were taken straight out of Thief 2 and that's just great. A shame the recommended requirements specify 8 GB of ram, a game that looks like this shouldnt be using so much power and my toaster pc wont be able to run it.

Well dont look at me, the only reason I watched the stream was because I wanted to see news for Evil Genius 2. Could care less about ports and persona royal or whatever, All I wanted was my most awaited sequel ever.

Yes since they all died. They had their heyday in the late 90s to mid 2000s but now they're sadly dead.

Devs have said it was actually more of a horror game than a stealth game, it's also one big world map (with different paths?) instead of successive levels, obviously thief influences are there and they're also trying to get the original thief voice actor for the character (something arkane already did with dishonored). They've also said the first area in the demo is more linear but other areas will be more vertical, you get tools like a climbing rope bow, etc. So while thief is the obvious aesthetic influence, it also tries to borrow from SS and DX and to do its own thing, devs seem really passionate about the classics and the design philosophy.

Immersive sim is in such a sad state right now with Raf leaving Arkane to do an indie isometric game and Deathloop looking more like a straightforward action game following the previous flops and studio changes under Bethesda reign, new DX never ever, Spector's Underworld being an embarrassing kick-starter scam, bloodline 2 looking like crap and cyberpunk looking like a normie friendly gta clone. This became the best looking upcoming entry in the genre by default despite the low budget approach.

Monomyth also might be a cool indie dungeon crawler influenced by ultima/arx/kings field, can't be worse than underworld anyway.

user, I played demo on the 7 year old laptop. If you disable dynamic shadows, it runs flawlessly.

Thi4f, Prey, and Dishonored 2 all flopped hard as fuck user...

Good to know, user. I had already decided to not play the game because of my lame pc, but now that I know about dynamic shadows I might check it out. I've been itching for more Thief-related content for a while now, this will be a good treat. Thank you for letting me know.
