It matters because when Catherine Classic came out, Atlus JP didn't acknowledge it at all and the game couldn't be even bought in Japan. P4G release is vastly different and suggest a huge shift in how Atlus JP views PC as a platform.

Atlus fucking did it. They included everything. Full Japanese support (text and audio). Everything in 4k. Remade a lot of assets to fit with 4k. Top tier port without any problems.

Considering the attach rate for sony exclusives you're absolutely correct, whenever I ask what my friends are playing on their PS4's they always say Fifa, COD or GTA. I've yet to see someone irl who even knows what bloodborne is.

Average Playstation gamer might not care, but you gotta admit it's much more likely for a Snoygger to be obsessed with exclusives than any other platform's player. The amount of butthurt Sony exclusives coming to other platform causes here, on Twitter, YouTube etc. is unparalleled by anything else. MCC coming to PC was pretty much the only time Xbox players bitched, and it was mostly because the online is free on PC while they have to pay for it (which is a valid complaint, but they brought it upon themselves by being perfectly happy to pay for XBL Gold and overpriced DLCs). Nintendo players are just obsessed with first-party and chances of that coming anywhere else is pretty much null so they're out of the equation. PC literally never cares about exclusivity. At most people are skeptical about some series going multiplat, because it could mean that games will be simplified to accommodate for controllers, but as long as they're designed for PC first, no one cares.

Honestly it's because Joe Average doesn't buy consoles for exclusives. They want a games machine that plays all the popular games that are fun and that they can play with their friends with. It's telling that CoD, sports games, GTA etc. constantly tops sales charts whilst niche exclusives touted as killer apps sell a fraction of that
