People who dislike the combat unironically got filtered
I suffered through the entirety of 2. It's the exact same shit. Uninstalled six hours in.
the best combat in an action WRPG ever
>People who dislike the combat *buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords**buzzwords*
It's shallow and easy even on death march, how the fuck would anyone get "filtered" by it?
Nah... Death March, used everything the game had to offer(oils, bombs, signs), anything to try making that shitshow interesting. When you make an action-rpg and fuck up the action part, you should go back.
>First time playing any Witcher game
>Start on hard
>Finally get through tutorial BS
>Oh look some armed town guards. I'll fight them for fun to try out what I just learned, probably get my ass kicked and just reload
>Attack 6 guards that are like 10-15 levels ahead of me
>Kill all of them in under a minute
No I filtered the games hardest difficulty on my first try and realized it would never challenge me so there was no point in playing it.
What exactly do you dislike about its combat? For me it was infinite sidestepping and some glitches, but it's definitely not the worst. I like that they made made it faster and a little like little bit more responsive than in 2.
the combat is actually good, the game mostly suffers from balancing issues which are alleviated by playing on the highest difficulty (which is still relatively easy)
it's unironically really fucking fun especially once your geralt is developed enough to use multiple tools ie. signs, decoctions, bombs, different crossbow bolt types etc
I feel like 99% of the people shitting on this game's combat are unfairly comparing it to games like DMC or Bloodborne that literally focus ONLY on combat
you're right. and that's pretty sad.
>tfw suffered through vanilla 2 recently
>that silky smooth responsive combat and movement in TW3
it's great
Gameplay is temporary once you close the game it's done.
A good story is something you'll remember forever.
Yeah compared to the games you mentioned that have actually good combat - Witcher 3 immediately becomes PS2 tier afterthought shit with no depth/challenge. Not sure how anyone had fun with it, I tried and I just could not.
There's no reason combat should be bad in a game. Even simple well made combat is fine.
Go post on /lit/ then
the combat is fine, go fuck yourself

you can get away with just about anything as long as normalfags can look at pretty graphics and do repetitive tasks in a soulless, empty open world
stop parroting this bullshit, witcher combat is fine
by the time i finished the main game i was already 100% decked out. Did I miss out on the expansion story that much?
I saw no reason to keep playing since i had literally everything.
That's how I felt. I went from TW1 -> 2 -> 3 while playing no other games in between, and the improvements were staggering every time. Have to agree with this user
too. I thought the arsenal of weapons made the game incredibly fun. But they dropped crafting traps from the 2nd game, right? I think I missed having those, but then you wouldn't necessarily be using everything else in your inventory. There has to be a limit.
Quen is easy mode even on Death March. All the other signs are fucking useless. The fact that you need to open the menu every fucking time to use oils breaking the flow of the game. Bombs are a joke and not a funny one. The same 3 moves with the sword gets old REALLY fast. Games like Bloodborne, Nioh, hell... even fucking The Surge have a fun combat compared to The Witcher 3.
go play soulsborne or last of the trannies you mindless snoyboy
So true. look at breath of the wild.
>Witcher 3
>Good story.
Out... OUT!
>Out... OUT!
Maybe to smooth brain casuals that can't comprehend a combat system that requires more than two button presses to win
>you can get away with just about anything as long as normalfags can look at pretty graphics and do repetitive tasks in a soulless, empty open world
You forgot about tits. Just put some good old PLOT there and you can get away with murder.
You must be a big guy.
Is BB a significant improvement in combat over the Souls games? I haven't played it, but you guys arguing that its combat is so much more complex, difficult, and rewarding compared to TW3 doesn't make sense to me. DaS1-3 boils down to finding a weapon you like the attack pattern of and upgrading it. Combat tactics are one of two things: parry and deal a single blow for big damage, or wait for an opening and attack repeatedly. For the record, I loved DaS1-3 (although I was a bit bored of 3 by the time I beat it) and TW1-3.
By your description, it is the same.
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't bang my head against a wall to become retarded enough to be happy with "fine". But you do you.
you're pretty delusional
>one of the worst combats in vidya history.
You need to play more games if you think that's a bad combat system.
>Quen is easy mode even on Death March. All the other signs are fucking useless.
if you level up signs igni literally becomes so good you don't even need to equip swords anymore, plus every sign has its utility, like u balancing shield users with aard or using axii to stun enemies
>The fact that you need to open the menu every fucking time to use oils breaking the flow of the game.
it's called roleplaying you absolute fucking nigger, witchers are supposed to be professionals who prepare for battle in advance and the witcher 1 especially reflected that really well, by complaining about this you outed yourself as a secondary shitter
>Bombs are a joke and not a funny one.
they can be powerful as fuck, like you can literally freeze entire groups of enemies with a single bomb
I'll give you the lack of sword moves though
The combat is widely agreed to be dogshit
By whom? Zig Forums contrarians?
Its absolutely a bad combat system even if there are worse games out there
Imagine getting filtered by Witcher 3's easy-ass combat.
No, everywhere honestly. Even fans of the game agree that the combat is not good.
You are actually the contrarian here.
>3 button combat instead of 2 button combat
How fucking dare they
only on Zig Forums though
and the only reason for that is that it won GOTY instead of Bloodborne so retards are seething over the only thing that the Witcher 3 doesn't do better than Bloodborne which is the combat, and the reason for that is because BB is basically a pure action game with very limited builds and virtually no story
that's pretty much every combat system
THIS, is FINE: GREAT COMBAT SO WOW
easy =/= good
Now you're just being retarded and too lazy to offer a counter argument. Go back to lurking kiddo.
the witcher is just using your sword, while occasionally setting guys on fire.
No, its not just Zig Forums.
Actually, Zig Forums is the only place where i have ever seen anyone defend the combat.
In my opinion, Witcher III's combat was fine by itself, it's just that the low difficulty made a substancial amount of mechanics like oils, potions, and even signs at times, unneeded. If they made the difficulty hard enough to make those mechanics more relevant, it would have been much better I think.
>worst combats in vidya history
HAHA not by a looong shot.
>the only reason
user, can you stop being a faggot for 5 seconds? Soundtrack, gameplay, boss design, level design... only reason you dumb cunt?
Yeah but they didn't and the combat is so easy a toddler could beath Death march, and all that shit is irrelevant and stupid and not easily accessible, so the combat is shitty.
I'm a different user, but that's the vast majority of combat systems.
The enemy design is what really sets souls/BB combat apart from w3s terrible combat. That, and the controls are far more responsive in froms games than w3
those are subjective, and the witcher 3 excels at the things you listed, and 'gameplay' as I mentioned literally only means combat in the case of BB
I would say that BB beats w3 inevery area except characterization honestly. Even the story is better in BB.
Name me 3 games where the combat comes down to winning with ONLY two buttons.
>Witcher 3
>Bosses
>Excels at
Kill yourself. I don't care how, just do it.
you did not do this
>the enemy design
that's usually how it goes. that's the same reason people think nier automata has bad combat. it doesn't, it's just that most enemies don't force you to switch up your tactics, and can just be cheesed or machine gunned to death. the mechanics themselves are sound, and among platinum's best.
You're over simplifying both w3 and souls combat, but plenty of action games can be beat with only 2 buttons.
Dragons dogma, DMC, bayonetta, Zelda, etc.
Some of those games have more depth and require more buttons on higher difficulties but dodge and attack are all you really ever need.
Batman Arkham series
Sleeping Dogs
Any Final Fantasy game
CSGO
TF2
FIFA
MADDEN
MLB the show
NFS Shift 2
Binding of Isaac
Overwatch
Not everyone sucks at video games. All I had to do was counter every attack. The game gives you a timing window so long I can take a nap during it.
Not him but i did. The combat is absurdly easy.
Nier Automata has a lot of problems, the combat isn't one of them. Y.T. tried too hard to be lol random in that fucking game.
that's more than 3.
