Why dose this game cause such seething despite taken RE back into the right direction?
It’s thanks to 7 RE2 Remake was so good and RE8 looks like it could be the best RE yet

m-muh outlast
The outlast obsession is so weird to me
Besides the one section you have to hide from Jack it almost never happens again
I can’t tell if it’s a meme or retards who legit have never played 7
the latter
I've come to the understanding that the vast majority of RE fans don't actually understand what makes classic RE good. They like REmake because of its le spoopy aesthetic, not because of map design or anything like that. At most they might talk about it "limited resources" because they heard about it from someone else (probably an e-celeb) but they have no idea what that really entails.
no zombies
whoops forgot to remove an "it" there
Point is, meaningful mechanical discussion is shockingly low. There are unironic plotfags who are angry that Ethan is a new character instead of Joey Bo Boey from [insert shitty spin-off here].
Butthurt because its not another TPS boring Leon adventure going Bing Bing boom boom. Some people are really ignorant about that.
Tough i would love to actually see /ourboy/ Ethan face.To a FPS RE be perfection, they should really make like Doom Eternal and the Cutscenes in third person.
RE7 is the game people think RE4 is, aka franchise ruiner. Chris punching a boulder is quaint compared to him murdering people and turning into a werewolf.
I just finished 6 literally a few moments ago. I don't get all the hate it gets here. It wasn't that bad. Not rhennewt game I've ever played, but not the worst either. I thought it was decent.
the game's cool as shit but i hate the slime enemies, so boring
The limited resources part is funny to me because OG RE2 gives you so much fucking ammo it makes every encounter a joke
I had more struggle in 7 keeping enough ammo to keep me alive due to the hard aming
But in 2 you can just blast all of them no struggle at due to the lock on
*not the best game. Fucking Samsung
Should’ve stopped making sequels beyond 4. I had real hopes with the success of REmake 2 that they would just reboot and go from there. RE7 is very generic and derivative and has no reason to be called Resident Evil.
>RE7 is very generic
hard disagree from me
>It’s thanks to 7 RE2 Remake was so good and RE8 looks like it could be the best RE yet.
Thank god more people are realising that.
Before RE7 they tought shit like Umbrella corps was a good Idea for fuck sake!
It was more RE then 4 ever was
7 kept true to the classic gameplay while 4 started the action trend
>best RE yet
>ebil chris
>attache case inventory (antithetical to survival horror inventory management for obvious reasons)
>money system (probably means buyable health items are back despite being cancer)
>"more action focus"
I've seen some claim that if the game isn't fucking tank controls/fixed camera angles, or in third person, its not Resident Evil. Resident Evil isn't a series defined by it's core gameplay like DMC, which makes it a lot more maleable for experimenation while keeping the series main survival horror elemenet there. Like, you can see the same formula and features working really well in three different perspective and gamaplay styles, in REmake, REmake2, and RE7.
GO TELL AUNT RHODY
The difference is that 4 is a good action game, 1-3 are good horror games, 7 is a bad game. Plus the 90’s aesthetic Japanese horror is much better done than “Have you ever seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre and True Detective? Just copy those”
I really liked it
I even went back to beat it in madhouse
>ebil chris
What even are the chances of Chris being evil? He's always been such a "always fighting evil/willing to help" that the evil Chris tease sounds nothing but to get the player intrigued.
They make Chris look evil in the trailer, turns out that the Mia he killed wasn't really Mia, maybe some bioengineered chick created to keep Ethan in check, and that Mia is already dead or some shit.Wouldn't make sense for Chris to go through the effort of rescuing all these characters in RE7 just to start killing them in 8, Capcom isn't Naughty Dog.
It’s clearly still a horror game dude
Everything you mentioned will not change the horror and atmosphere we’ve seen
RE7 gives you a fucking grenade launcher but it’s still clearly horror
The game was clearly made for VR. There are these cutscenes where it's painfully obvious you're supposed to go "Whoooaaaaaa" but without VR it's just overly disorienting and obnoxious. It's like watching a movie made to be released in 3D, with the cringy scenes where something floats toward the camera in slo-mo, completely destroys the experience.
The thing is, I can’t think of an equivalent game to REmake or even REmake2, but RE7 is up and down a post PT indie Steam horror game with a bigger budget.
Well that’s just your opinion
The atmosphere to me was some of the best in the series
The gameplay was tight and I fucking loved the bosses not including the final boss
The main thing 7 needed was a better final act and more enemy types
Other then that it was kino
>not RE if it doesn't have muh 3rd person
1st person is the way to go for horror games, come at me.
>Right direction
If it wasn't titled Resident Evil everyone would pan it as a shitty outlast wannabe. But because it is, faggots pretend that RE hasn't always been an obnoxious B movie since the live action sequence in 1.
outlast doesn't have combat and survival mechanics and it's very linear.
Oh it’s the Outlast retard
I was was wondering when you would show up
You looking forward to RE8?
How it feel knowing RE is going to continue like this and pretty much everyone but you loves it?
Remember when you said RE7 was a flop?
It’s funny how non of you say that anymore
>outlast does first person survival horror decades after the trend started
>"MUH OUTLAST WE WUZ PIONEER KANGZ"
Either you're a disingenuous lob or just plain mentally incompetent
