Been wanting to replay MGS 3 on pcsx2 at 4k if possible. Played it some years ago on my trash pc and it worked mostly fine. When I start the game though it looks like pic related. What do I need to change in the settings to make it not look like that.

Skipdraw.
Those effects are actually how they're supposed to be, but they just scale really shitty, so you use skipdraw to completely remove them.

Is there also a fix for the slow motion sound at times?

Speedhacks, slow motion sound means emulation of the system is not locked at 100%. You can mitigate that issue by enabling "Async Mix" as synchronization mode in the sound settings, but especially in MGS games when streaming audio if you drop too many frames it will give up and lose track of what it's reading, risking a softlock (unless you're in a codec convo, in that case you can skip and get out of the endless loop).

pc gamers are fucked in the head

Half pixel offset

to allign the effect go to plugin settings->Enable HW Hacks->half-pixel offset-> normal(vertex)

Intelligence might seem like that to someone who is retarded.

This is the bullshit PC gamers have to contend with all the time to be able to play games. Mindless.

at least i can play Bloodborne

Another problem I have is during the first cutscene, imagine it'll be in others too, is that I have some weird red and green lines on the side.

You dont have to go thru the bullshit just set the the renderer to software and enjoy your vanilla PS2 experience these workarounds are for 1080p+

It takes 1 second.

That's from the widescreen patch, you can zoom in the screen to like 98% or whatever to get rid of that.

Whats the point in having a PC if not to play it at a higher spec than the original console?

What's the point of playing it on PS2 at the original spec?

Thanks. So the audio is the only thing that should be kept as is as not to break the game with the async mix?

Not that other guy. I only get 2 slowdowns in the game and never cared but you can try downclocking the EE to fix that slowdown. I play with the 60fps patch though so doing that would probably fuck it up, not sure if it will help.

Last thing. Why is the letterbox red?

Foreshadowing. I don't fuckin know, show me your gpu plugin setup.

I'm pretty sure you're trolling

i played through the whole of bloodborne on my pc through psnow. no input lag cause i dont have shitty internet. no dlc though, ill give you that

They added the DLC a while back

No.

well whatever you fucked up would be in HW hacks I guess, or one of those rare bugs from a botched build

I'm fairly certain it was normal the first time I tried playing so maybe I should just reinstall. Also what was that about a 60fps patch? Seems like I'm getting them but it doesn't looke like it.

I think it's in the widescreen patch but you have to uncomment it
