Shadow Tactics was great.

yeah, demo was great, hoping some of the DLC goes wild like they planned for ST

I was since I liked commandos and never played a desperados, then I saw theres like magic and mindcontrol and shit? wtf

There's one character with voodoo - she can link 2 people together so if you kill one the other dies

Apparently it's already been leaked to your torrent tracker of choice. People who played it have positive impressions but downloading torrents is a pain for me because I'm getting the internet off a dongle.

YES. i'm so honored to have been a closed beta tester. i don't even mind that i wasn't mentioned in the end credits by name. they would've had to list 500 other people if they did anyway.

how does it compare to Shadow Tactics? is it more of the same or does it improve?
Even if its just more of the same Im hyped

core gameplay is more of the same but they've added a bunch of little QoL improvements that put it a step above shadow tactics.

they mentioned the dlc missions are basically an epilogue to the story so i don't think they're going to do anything out there like on the moon.

>not shadow tactics 2
>ywn have yuki jump on your back and slit your throat
why live?

Yep it looks great, one of the few games i was looking forward this year.

It's on GMG for £36 for the deluxe, I think I'm gonna buy a full price game for the first time in fuck knows how long

How is this and Shadow Tactics? I tried the first level of ST and was put off it being very seemingly turn based in a way. Do levels get harder eventually or is it very much still "do this, now wait, now continue doing this obvious path since its the only way to victory"

Lots of trial and error, lots of experimentation.
Save scumming is an actual tactic you have to use, the game tells you "it's been a minute since you last quicksaved"

it definitely gets more complicated

Hold up, the game's not out yet?
I say that because I found the torrent for it and just presumed that it got released.

>I think I'm gonna buy a full price game for the first time in fuck knows how long
same
tuesday

Turns out I have it on pirate, need to play it

So the tutorial was rail raoded as fuck, I assume later ones are more open like Commandos?

So? It's just fluffly for the abilities, the gameplay will most likely still be tight, Commandos had the "magic" spy.

Early missions only teach you how to use characters abilities without much challenge.
Later, you'll need a combination of careful realtime micro-management and strategy.

Generally, you'll pause and look over the map for any viable routes based on what you know about the skills at your disposal. If at any time you feel like there's only one way to complete the level, you should try looking over your skills and map again, since there are always at least 3 viable approaches per map after intros are done.
Any time you have more 1 character to use, there are a lot of possibilities, and once you are confident with how the characters function, you can very quickly move through an area following your plan - usually without waiting for guard patrols.

wait a second, correct me if I'm wrong, but earlier desperados games were tactics (?) games, somewhat similar to commandos and silent storm
meanwhile, shadow tactics plays more like a puzzle game
and now desperados 3 is being made by ST devs or what?
this gives me that fallout 3 = oblivion with guns feel, and I honestly do not like it that much

>So the tutorial was rail raoded as fuck, I assume later ones are more open like Commandos?
Yeah, beginning at the second mission, the maps are pretty big and let you approach the situation in multiple ways.

Torrented the game and almost done with chapter 1. Liked it so much that I bought it. Hopefully the save file can be transferable.

just finished it a few hours ago. it´s really good.

Favorite level? For me it's Casa DeVitt.

Commandos has always had this puzzle feel, Silent Storm is a completely different kind of game.

What was bad about it?

I never pre-order but I enjoyed the demo alot and I paid like 34 euros for the deluxe including the dlc that's coming later down the road so yeah I'm hyped

oh, my bad then

tie between devils canyon and new orleans
favourite character?
for me it was isabella

not him but doc was my favorite

Probably Hector, but Cooper is a close second. Both are pretty good at taking out guards and I tend to not use any consumables.

hmm, minor details like horses are immune to gunshots. enemy variety is laughable. replayablitiy is meh, nothing to unlock except baron challanges.

How long is the game lads? Hows the replay value?

Worth the price? I kinda want to support the devs even though that's a very gay thing to say
