2020 is a pretty shit year for Smash Bros. This is the 3rd time this week i typed Smash in the catalog and got 0 results. What the fuck, Zig Forums? We're literally getting new content this week.
Smash Bros Ultimate
More like on june 30 at this rate
Announcement fucking when reeeeeeee
Its minmin and youll like it
Fuck Ultimate, all my homies hate Ultimate
My prediction is either a direct or a release wednesday the 17th
>We're literally getting new content this week
source: desperation
there's been nothing confirmed
nothing hinted
not even a whisper.
I still havent bought the game.
July
I just want to know what the fuck is going on at Nintendo. Last I heard, development was going fairly well even with Covid going on. How has it taken half a year to announce a fucking character?
Less than two hours until they'll announce a stream or video.
We're all praying for it man
>We know it's going to be from ARMS
>ARMS isn't exactly a fan favorite critical darling, it's gimmicky and not in a great way
I've gone back to playing Smash 4 online with friends and locals. Ultimate is the new Brawl with less features.
Everyone just wants to get it over with and move on to the next DLC.
Pretty much, yeah. I only follow this game now because the speculation gives me something to do
>This is the 3rd time this week i typed Smash in the catalog and got 0 results.
Good
Youre part of the problem
Fuck smash threads unless theyre Zig Forumskend arena threads
So much rosterfaggotry its fucking insane
>2018 game dies out in 2020, hype only being stretched out because Nintendo wants to make the most out of games that are rehashes because they don't want to show the few cards they've got left in their hands throughout the rest of 2020 and 2021
wooooahhhh
Smash Ultimate is a fucking zombie that Nintendo's trying to beat more life into.
>it's more and more obvious that Nintendo was already accounting for 2020 being a crap year after AC for some time now
>they thought that even more Smash hype than originally planned, spread over even longer intervals, would be seen by customers as a suitable replacement for new software (spoiler: HUGE miscalculation)
>they picked possibly the most boring one to open the Pass with and they didn't actually specify who it was or even narrow it down, leaving people in a limbo of mystery blandos for months on end
>if reality is a thing, fighter 7 won't even be revealed for months more to come either
>these large gaps in news just lets people focus on the game on the whole, which means tons of people are waking up to how fucking rough Ultimate is overall
In general they've been trying to treat DLC as if it would fill the same gaps that a new game would but the problem is, of all the people who buy a game even less will buy the DLC. No-one is still talking about Torna or Cindered Shadows or The Champion's Ballad. They simply do not have anywhere near the impact, and they make the droughts even more noticeable.
Have you ever considered that maybe just maybe, Nintendo lied?
You're probably right, desu. I just want to be gullible.
They'll never stop The Smash Bros,
Have no fears, we've got fighters for years,
Like - Marth becomes a robot,
Finally someone from Namco,
Has Falcom got a fighter,
Or, how 'bout a crazy indie?
And someone happens, a do-do-do-do-doooo
Sorry for the Echoes,
Have no fears, we've got fighters for years
This whole has been pretty shitty so far, but the interest for Smash ultimate really dwindled when people were nearly forced to play online due to the pandemic. The player base grew more and more frustrated and now we're at a point where no one gives a fuck anymore, because the game is seen as unplayable or broken.
It's probably not releasing this week since Pokémon is having its DLC on wednesday and Nintendo usually doesn't like overlapping their own releases, though they could drop the news and release it next week
the only thing people are waking up to is Ultimate's netcode being dogshit. It changes the way the meta works completely. People will be over it once locals pick back up.
Just go to plebbit im sure theyre excited about Ultimate still
If the character wasn't slated for June we'd have known about it already. Sakurai was very specific about the work-from-home setup only really working because the team they have now is so small, but he said it'd likely not be as easy for other developers.
excitment died when non-specific arms character was announced
who gives a shit, hype will come back when thats over and done with and the NEXT charactergets revealed
>We're literally getting new content this week.
You aren't getting shit until the literal end of the month. I'd love to be wrong about this, but it's pretty obvious they're shifting gears to shill the fuck out of pokemon this week
Smash has been done for months now. like sure we will get a few new characters but at this point who really cares? most people download the new character, run through solo mode then never touch them again.
The game is still garbage offline
>Smash DLC
>Pokémon DLC
>AC updates
>Paper Mario: Fuck Fans 3
>Wii Remake that frequently plays at lower resolutions than the PAL Wii version
>Microsoft Windows 100,000 Games In One: Now With SOME Polish!
This can't actually be Nintendo's post-AC plan for 2020. Jesus christ.
It really isn't
It's gonna be spring man (springtron replacing his AT) or max brass.
Isn't the pokemon dlc getting released this week? One would assume we will get a direct for that
>june direct being a pokemon direct
please don't do this
>Last I heard, development was going fairly well even with Covid going on.
What? No they said covid was directly affecting them.
