My theory is Mia is from the Village and is a relative of Oswell Spencer. The 'his story comes to an end' isn't Ethan or Chris but bringing the story full circle.
Before the virus the 'power is life' family creed was all about selective breeding and 'purity of the blood' which would naturally lead into the pharmaceutical company as science advanced. Both Oswell and Mia were breeding experiments and everything in 7 was a set up by The Spencer family aka The Connections to find a worthwhile sire to be augmented by the E Series infection and impregnate Mia. There were probably multiple boyfriends Mia had that she sent the video to and none of the others survived the culling process at the Baker estate. Blue Umbrella, the modern countermeasure force of The Family are sent in with BSAA assistance to clean up while erasing evidence of the whole thing.
So now they have Mia and Ethans mutant son who is the 'heir' to the family legacy and things like Tyrants and the Nemesis parasite will all be imperfect imitations Spencers radical offshoot that trusted science over breeding and 'alchemical serums' tried to make as a mass produced product and he was ostracised from the family for it. While Mia went the old fashion route of finding a suitable bull to knock her up and produce the all natural organic 'perfect lifeform' and he just needs some tonics and injections back home to mutate him and Ethan is trying to save his son.
The whole theme being "welcome to the family son".
