botw is like the strokes. sure they were industry plants coming from prestigious backgrounds, but they made one of the best and most influential albums of the 2000's so nobody sweats it. same with this game. journos may shill the hell out of it but it's a genuinely solid experience so who cares.

BotW has the best open world in any game to date. Too bad 95% of them are shit.

If you played all of Rockstar's games the generation before then BotW was nothing special.

Everything that could be achieved and done in an open world environment was done between 2001-2010. Nintendo got on the bandwagon way to late to make an impact.

BOTW and RDR2 are two of the best open world games of all time

Nintendo games are always 7/10's at best. This is nothing new.

I'm willing to bet he's talking about Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Xenoblade, etc.

Game reviewers review the game after playing it for only a handful of hours. The first handful of hours in BotW is great. The flaws in the game really only become apparent midway through when you start to get sick of copy pasted korok seeds and shrines.

They didn't even need to pay off the jornous. BotW was designed to bandwagon on the open world fad. They killed the spirit of the Zelda franchise to appeal to the lowest common denominator and were rewarded for it. The only way for BotW to score even higher would have been to make it an FPS.
