Only really early PS3 had backwards compatibility and the console was a fucking stutterbox. Don't get me wrong I'm happy I got it over the 360 given how much trouble I saw mates have with RROD but just because it was better doesn't mean it didn't have huge faults

Even PS1 compatibility is shaky in most models. And you need the unstable original model to run PS2 games. And even that one doesn't emulate all of them properly.

First thing that comes to mind is 3D Dot Game Heroes. Underrated as fuck. ModNation Racers got lost in the Little Big Planet Sauce. If you mean series that stayed with the console, but eventually got sequels on the PS4 then The Infamous duology, Killzone, Ratchet and Clank Future series, and then the Resistance series lived and died by the Trey as well.

A handful of ps3 games looked alright, the rest barely looked better than highres'd ps2 games.

Nearly every game of value got a PC port or HD remaster for next gen, it often had the worst versions of multiplats. A majority of the exclusives were western trash. The ps1 and ps2 have retained a lot of their exclusives, or at the very least are the best versions of them graphics be damned and most were Japanese.

Literally me. I ended up playing this more than any of the Gen 7 consoles and still look fondly on it today. That said PS3 was the last time Sony seemed to care. PS2 was peak PlayStation, but PS3 was Kutaragi's Swan Song.

I know, after enough time, everything enters nostalgia territory, but this is too much.

The power of the Cell was just to nuanced for pea brain westerners and Nintendo pussy whipped Japs to comprehend. As per usual, Sony was years early to the party and the leading trendsetter as well.

There's no way Sony can't get a PS3 emulator running well enough on a PS5 with all the PS3 hardware documentation they have.
