Its the biggest critical flop since Anthem

>Its the biggest critical flop since Anthem.

Yeesh. I know it was a f2p mmo that lost its funding and had to turn into this to survive -and was going to be mobile only for a while- but this is looking like the biggest flop we have seen in a hot minute.

Its being compared to not just Anthem but the launch state of Diablo 3...

aw, that's a shame

I played 500h of torchlight 2 and didnt knew this existed until now.

I tried. I really tried, but after more than 24h of not being able to launch a game, I had to refund.
You don't sell a 30$ game in that state.

is this wolcen 2.0?

Dude, why the fuck is it apparently so fucking hard to make a decent ARPG?

played the alpha, steer clear.

MAybe the game will be playable by the time it leaves early access.

>You don't sell a 30$ game in that state.
There should be a rule that early access games can't be sold for more than 10 bucks at most, even if they are supposed to turn in to full priced titles. Prior to early access devs had to PAY people for testing their games.

It was a F2P mmorpg for years, but that market is dead as dicks after online games are the norm not a novelty restricted to mmorpgs, then it became a f2p mobile game, then it became (((torchlight 3))) and its a trashfire.

Huh, didn't know it's already released

T1 was a fine, short game.
T2 expanded and was quite some fun

I mainly liked them for the music and sound design

Balance and content. Server stability is also a problem for the online ones (which is why players want offline mode at least as an option)

Meh, even Torchlight 2 was kind of disappointing. You can tell they didn't polish/balance the skill trees, probably thought players will just modify the shit they don't like. Second act is a fucking desert again, because...?

Hopefully. Apparently true single player and LAN will be implemented only AFTER release.

People bitching about Torchlight 3 being an MMO forgets or weren't around to know that Torchlight 2 was always supposed to be an MMO and Torchlight 1 was a proof-of-concept to test their engine. Runic then pivoted and changed TL2 into a direct sequel to TL1 after Perfect World pushed for it.

It's not. Nioh 1 and 2 exist.

the third get is always shit. Regardless of series

There should be a rule that your video game has to be able to actually start before you can start selling it.

Lots of game designers are absolutely unable to actually create anything, and will just go back to the safe zone of nostalgia whenever they fear their choice could be "questioned". It's pretty clear schools don't teach to create, they teach to copy.

If Wolcen on top of being a broken piece of shit, was also made from the ground up as a mobile cash grab.

What thing were "supposed" to be in the devs toilets is irrelevant to what the product was and how people liked it that way. You are being manipulative there. Get that scummy rhetoric for your youtube channel.

>you don't have to buy our game
you have and it's 30$, no discount

I have never been able to get far into 2. Like i remember lots of green hills full of beastmen and a dungeon where i saved a fish god thing and i always fall off there and go 'i would rather even play Diablo 3 as its more engaging than this' and its a shame as im a sucker for magical engineer type classes.

But the firsts where its a layer cake of failed civilisations built over this nightmarish thing is just way more interesting.

>Focusing all the online bullshit first and completely ignoring the rest of the game.

Why the fuck do devs still not realize that the vast majority of people, specially for ARPGS don't play online? Let alone why do they think have an always online beta test is a good thing? The online shit always comes fucking last.

But if the game isn't online, how are they going to make sure you buy their "time savers" instead of just cheating?

Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Metroid
Metal Gear Solid 3
Mother 3
Zelda: A Link to the Past

How does it feel to be so wrong and have such shit taste ?

Well i guess i'm installing Torchlight 1 again. Its been 11 years and i feel a powerful nostalgia.

holy shit boomer alert

All games are shit. Corporations are in a game of chicken between pleasing the players just barely enough to get their money, and not wasting a cent on making the product better.

They will always be shit unless a team of irrationally passionate people somehow come together to create something great for the sake of it.

What's so bad about it compared to TL2?

the people who made TL2 didn't work on it

So, the game industry is basically hollywood now.

Not developed by runic
damn shame

Considering TL2 is dogshit that should be a good thing right?

did the studio that did torchlight 1 and 2 not die a few years ago?
