New Vegas threads are shat up by contrarians desperately trying to prove that Fallout 3 was in fact, better. The same contrarians often find their way in to Vampire the Masquerade to point out obvious things like the combat being bad or the sewer segment sucking. Demon's Souls is shat on along with the rest of the Souls games and Super Mario is only ever talked about in the NINTENDO HIRE THIS MAN threads. That only leaves Deus Ex, which is shit.

All fall under the category of "not really amazing gameplay, saved in other areas". People who love games with smooth and complex game mechanics aren't going to enjoy them, so there's a large field for people to be against them. Personally, I can't stand them. People excuse a lot of design flaws because a few characters have catchy quotes or the villages have actual water sources or because it references other good media.
