Yeah, it's always suicide to attack the boss when it's not in recovery. If some bosses behaved more like human opponents this wouldn't be an issue, or if there were bosses you could stun by counter hitting them like MH or something. Most of the bosses are fun but even though I like the Souls series a lot there really is only one way to play it.
